I tried out several online pet food shops and this was by far the worst. There was no communication explaining or apologizing for the delay, they just ignored me after I placed my order until a month later when I got a shipping notification. I thought they must have been waiting for some out of stock items so I was happy, because I hate having something cancelled after I made my choices, then I have to decide whether I want it badly enough to seek it elsewhere, and waste more time searching around for it again. So I would rather wait a month than have a partial order. Well, turns out that isn't the explanation for the delay. I got another email shortly after, telling me I'd been refunded for something like three out of ten things which is kind of a lot. A month wasn't enough time for them to gather up the stuff they sold me? Wow. Also there was no shipping subsidy. But there was one positive- the packing was good. There was some unique stuff I'd describe as a paper alternative to bubble wrap, so I guess it's green as well as very protective. Nice.

FYI the shops I fell in love with are Homes Alive (fast shipping, what's listed as in stock seems to actually all be in stock, they subsidize the shipping fees, and they sell a lot of canned foods one can at a time so you can try new things without committing to a whole case! They do pack well but use bubble wrap so that's not very green) and Naturally Urban (has smaller selection and sometimes has a delay for out of stock, but they communicate about it very clearly, they also subsidize the shipping fee, and they pack very well, using wads of a miraculous stiff paper). Natural Pet Foods has meh selection and packing and took a couple weeks to ship. PetOnly packs absurdly recklessly giving the highest dent ratio, and if you complain they lip off LOL. I avoid them due to that but they do have a huge selection. If you want something obscure and can afford to throw away a quarter of your order due to mangled cans, maybe it makes sense to shop there sometimes.

So in a nutshell, I would not shop here again, instead I will be using Naturally Urban sometimes but mostly Homes Alive.

I decided to try a few new online pet food shops and this was by far my favourite of the 4 I tried. They subsidize the shipping cost which is a big deal when buying online in Canada. The packing was good, resulting in very few dented cans (there will always be some but these guys had the least except for Naturally Urban who pack WELL but can't compete for the selection Homes Alive offers). The other stand-out detail is that you can get most types of canned food ONE CAN AT A TIME. I tried something crazy like 10-20 new products, about half of which my cats enjoyed. I'm so glad I didn't have to invest in a case of each to try them because cats are so fussy. Now we've found a bunch of new options without any waste! What a great option. These guys also were the fastest by far, shipping 2d after I submitted my order. And they had everything I ordered, while other shops refunded or delayed for out of stock items. Fast, huge and reliable selection, great price on shipping, and single cans available... it's everything I want.

I used to love this shop, got three or four rugs from them in the past few years. The only problem was the ultra-bright lighting they use for photos distorting the color so what you get is often not what you expected. No biggie, with free returns, though.
But I've just had an upsetting experience and I don't even see what they have to gain from treating me badly. I'll tell the story: the cart suggests adding a rug pad when you check out and I accepted that the last couple rugs. I was unpacking them weeks later and saw the rug pad has a rubbery layer for grip. Having a latex allergy I sealed the packages back up and emailed the company to ask if it was natural or synthetic rubber. I got some weird replies telling me it was felt, fiber, recycled yarn yadda yadda, as if I'd asked about the pad when I was clearly asking about the rubbery coating. I just couldn't get a sane answer out of the rep. No matter how much I explained it was just "the pad's felt". I tried calling, same idiot/jerk. Tried a facebook message, ignored. Finally I tried using the BBB and again got the same weirdo saying the same weird non-answer. But then FINALLY they got off their butt and called the supplier to ask and both the RugSource weirdo and the rug pad manufacturer's rep stated on the BBB thread that I could rest assured there was no latex. BUT THAT WAS A LIE! The manufacturer's rep, thank goodness, included a pdf with all the product details. So after two months of seeking this info I was finally able to determine that no, it isn't safe for me to open these packages. What if I had listened to that claim there's no latex? Good grief. I guess some people just do not care if they hurt someone.
