Avoid this rescue if you care about dogs and your own sanity. Do your homework and find a better option (there are many). Look for a rescue that has a physical location or works with foster homes.

The biggest problem with Second Chance Rescue is that they get most of their young dogs from breeder auctions. They don't tell you this, of course. They pretend they are saving dogs from horrible situations, but they are actually supporting the very industry they claim to oppose.

As an adopter, you will be frustrated by the lack of communication from this rescue. They don't give you any real information about the dogs - just generic descriptions that could apply to any dog. They don't answer your questions about the dogs' history or personality. They don't send you any pictures/videos/updates of the dogs before you get them. Many adopters from this rescue have reported serious behavioral/health problems that were not disclosed - and even huge discrepancies in the dogs' ages.

They don't care about the dogs' welfare, only their profit. They are either too overwhelmed or too greedy to provide proper care and screening for the dogs. At best, they are negligent; at worst, they are exploitative. If you still want to adopt from this rescue, make sure you ask for photos/videos of where the dog is living and how the dog was obtained.
