I hired Epps Plumbing thru Grove Supply to install new brass faucets and shower handle attachment in my main bath tub which is a reproduction claw foot tub with brass feet and faucet that had sprung pinhole leaks. This job went fine. The Shower in the bath off of my bedroom was also brass and I was told the stem needed replacing. The company that made the faucets and shower riser (Sunrise) had gone out of business so the plumbing supply told me Epps should do the measuring, not to try to do it myself as the brass was very expensive. Allan Epps came in, measured and I signed a work order for what I had picked out at the plumbing supply. When the items came in they were way too large for my shower and Mr. Epps told me there was a restocking fee that I'd have to pay at approximately 30% of the items cost. I questioned why I had to pay it being he was the plumber and measured and he said he could not "eat the cost" and also that it needed to be customed to fit my shower. He ordered it and after he told me it had been shipped he said it wouldn't look like the other one that it had "right angles" to which I replied I didn't understand to show me what he meant. Where my shower riser curved and was very graceful looking to match the look of my historic farmhouse he informed me this one would not curve but came out in a straight line and down again in the straight line. I said that I had never approved anything like that nor had he ever mentioned the extreme changes from my other shower before ordering it. He said it wasn't returnable as it was custom so I might as well just keep it and then he proceeded to repair the hot faucet stem. I asked him why he didn't do that before ordering such expensive items and his reply was that he had just done me a "favor." I said I wasn't paying for that so he offered to split it with me. I said, "No, that I'd pay for the shower steam part and his time for that job. He said the part had been on his truck for eight years and he'd forgotten about it but that it was $100. I paid $150 for the part and his time in Sept. And by January I had no hot water coming out of the faucet but the cold still worked. I called and left him a voicemail and he returned the call with a voicemail saying the part had no warranty and not to call him again that he was just returning my call as a courtesy since I didn't pay him for the items I stuck him with. #1: He was responsible for measuring wrong but wanted me to pay for his error, #2: He never told me of any changes to the custom items or got approval before ordering them, #3: I paid $150 for a repair that worked for only three and a half months and he refused to stand behind the part or his work. Don't hire this plumber or beware if you do!

Mr. Kurt Hafer is a "real charmer" who tells you that he never signs a contract and supposedly works on a handshake only with people he likes. After paying this man approximately $70,000 cash he refused to give me in EIN for tax purposes and also refused to provide his insurance company info. He kept telling me he would "get it to me." He puts himself out there as a restoration expert on historic homes and does a rather elaborate dance impressing you with all of the innovative products he uses that will prevent deterioration on your historic building. He is very big on "name dropping" on all the affluent clients who have used his company and will reel you in by taking you to their impressive properties showing you what he has done. At one of these properties he told the workmen that the brick mortar didn't match and everything needed to be chipped out and re-done. Since their is a very loosely written proposition of what he is going to be doing when he took flight I was left with a patio full of dirt, large stones and ruined plantings mixed with all kinds of debris. He later told me that "clean up" was not part of the job. I have photos of the destruction left in his wake and would be glad to share with anyone who contacts me thru SiteJabber. I have a back wall that is a different color from the rest of the stucco on the house that he never painted before walking off the job. He used my tenant property behind me as a "free parking spot" for his trailer housing supplies for other people's jobs despite constant requests from my tenant and myself to remove it from the property. It literally sat there for months while he did nothing on my property. His "so called mason" was not supervised and was supposed to repair some areas of mortar on the front brick walkway and chipped it out to a point of making it so bad that the two front steps literally fell off and ultimately I had to have another company come in and replace the entire walkway. On his "calling card" with his email, website, fax he touts himself as an expert in the consultation of historic colors. I told him that I wanted the same "Williamsburg Historic Colors" that had been Benjamin Moore and he took all of my color charts which are no longer available and never returned them thus when it comes to matching my interior and exterior colors for the future I am out of luck. I currently already have stucco effervescing off my home that he "so called repaired." I gave this man multiple chances to make this right and after the last promise to come to finish and cancelling I told him that my next correspondence would be to an attorney. Although I did contact him one time after that asking him to please complete the job as I had been diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and was asking for some mercy I have never heard from him since. All that I have to say is PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS BEWARE OF BEING DUPED!

Tip for consumers:
I am not a person who writes negative reviews without a lot of thought. I do feel that good businesses deserve to be complimented as much as bad ones being exposed and do that much more in appreciation for good and honest workmanship

I received a kitten from this breeder with an active, contagious and infectious case of ringworm. The kitten arrived at the airport with flaking throughout its entire coat and multiple thick scabs, bare, red, open areas and areas of complete hair loss on the chin, on both ears and areas on the neck. I caught the ringworm because it did not arrive in a travel case from this breeder but instead a small carrier that was taken back by her chosen courier, hence I had to hold the kitten until we arrived at home when I immediately called her to question the kitten's condition. That was a Sunday and on that following Wednesday which was within her contract deadline the Vet suspected ringworm, did a skin scraping culture along with fur samples which came back positive for ringworm. The infection has so far spread to me and another cat since it is carried on spores and can live up to two years in the environment and thus infected my premises despite the kitten being isolated in a separate room on another floor. I would not recommend this breeder to my worst enemy. She also has it in her contract that if you let your cat outside of the house your contract is null and void but has a video of her own ragdolls running around playing and rolling around in the dirt in what appears to be her backyard with music playing.
