Leading up to formalizing our contract, Marcelo and I negotiated to have a competent employee from his team made available to assist in the process of adapting my design sketches into technical blueprints in order to have the Espina Corona company fabricate. This was written into the contract and a fixed dollar sum was specifically broken out to cover eight weeks salary for this individual. All project deliverables were to be performed at my direction. Within a week, Marcelo stated he'd hired a team member, but refused to let me speak with her. Upon pressing I learned that in fact this hire was a university student who was interning for free and Marcelo had pocketed the monies allocated for this technical draftsperson. This is at a minimum breach of contract and probably fraud against me, the misallocation of funds is embezzlement. I pressed and I pressed and he flat out refused to make this right. I eventually had to terminate the contract and he kept a fat chunk of the deposit I put down on this project and delivered absolutely nothing for it. Buyer beware.
