Experienced all the frustrations of most others that have written reviews, but in the end, instead of linking to a bank account for a payout (which I believe is their TRUE intention with all the establishments that actually reject the card --- to gain access to YOUR personal bank info), thank God, I used the $50 virtual reward card received from M&M Mars as compensation for a product testing ONLY to fund my transit card...
I had made six $5 transactions and then paid Amazon $6.99 for a total of $36.99 spent...checked at the time of Amazon purchase and the $13.01 WAS the correct remaining balance, so within a few hours I decided to try and zero the balance and just be done with these idiots by making a couple purchases... upon checking beforehand, the balance went from $13.01 to -.97... hmmmm, wtf? So, thinking it's an error, I try to add $5 to the transit card, which is a recurring transaction, as a test... Of course, rejected/declined
Now, of course, no actual number (even though help section says if any issues to call number on "back of the card") to call, so I follow the email instructions, where I inform them in initial email all these details along with their 'customer service key' b.s., only to be given scripted responses, as if it was chat GPT, and the 'rep' Elizabeth harping on the $5 rejected purchase as to why I had a negative balance, without anyone willing to actually do the simple math.
As I said, I'm pretty sure the end result of this scam company is for you to provide them with your personal info, primarily bank account(s), which they can do whatever with, now OR in future, once you've provided it, because in the help section it gives you instructions on how to remove your personal information by going to "your account" -- which the option doesn't exist in menu.
What's even more surprising is that a company as large as M&M Mars wouldn't do the due diligence or use a company that has this many negative customer experiences to pay individuals for their product tastings...
Please share review so noone else puts their personal data at risk!
