FBA is the parent company to the SUCCEED! Event, and is also where you go to do the FBA Certification for fitness professionals.

This is a review for the FBA Certification. First off, this is not a required certification to get a training job. Anyone starting in the industry needs a training certification from companies like ACE and NASM.

FBA certification is for people that are already trainers or studio owners. It is intended as a second certification. The program is video education with some side materials and 10 short tests. Most of the videos are under an hour, so the program should take well under 50 hours to complete. The tests are similar to other programs using multiple-choice questions, and can be retaken without penalty.

This is an easy certification to get, considering that it's just watching videos and taking quizzes that can be retaken. The decision should be made on whether you are ready to dedicate the time to get through the program. Most people can get this done in a matter of weeks if you get yourself organized on a schedule. There are no time limits and no additional costs or materials.

Is it good? I would say yes, and the people I spoke to say so too. There is something there for everyone. The program is about covering all the bases for fitness pros to be more successful when training clients and handling business. For many, this might be the first time you are trained in sales. But there are also good ideas for how to talk to clients and improve program adherence. The educators are knowledgeable and they are all people from the industry.

Is it worth it? Since it's a new program, I don't know what value this will have on your resume. And clients wouldn't know about certifications anyway. But if you run your own business or manage your own clients, or do sales, or are responsible for your class attendance, then getting better at the business side will pay for itself. It also comes with CECs, so you end up saving money if you need ACE CECs, or for another certification. I give it 5 stars because the content is good and I got a great deal on it.
