AIG travel insurance added over $1,000 to an already expensive set of international flight tickets, but they promote themselves and word everythign so carefully through the company that you think you are 100% covered no matter what and it's worth it. "Delayed" baggage is not covered under them, only "lost" baggage. It doesn't matter that our baggage was lost both on the way out of the country AND on the way back in, and we were without out luggage for the entirety of our trip, had to buy everything we needed for a family for 10 days in another country, and we didn't get our luggage back until we went to the airport and found it ourselves. Then on the flight back we were informed that our baggage wasn't even in their system and the only reason we got it back is because we had our phone numbers on our bags, so the airline that ended up with them called on a whim. But no, none of that counts as "lost" to them, because we ended up with our bags in the end. So we spent $1,000 on the insurance, $1,000 on new things we had no choice to get, and two weeks of aggravation and heartache, and ended up being told no, even after an appeal to explain everything further. Never again, and shame on you AIG.
