We bought a white gold Claddagh ring for our daughter's 18th birthday for $225. It was something she had been wanting for years and she was very specific with her requirements (she wanted her birthstone as the heart and a diamond in the crown). The only place she found to make this design was Gemologica. On the website the ring looked lovely. It was to be a wonderful and very special 18th birthday gift. When it arrived, it was a pale imitation of the image on the website. Worse still, the diamond in the crown was missing. We emailed Gemologica with photos to report the issue. What then followed was the most unprofessional, rude and dishonest communication imaginable from Jennifer and Judy whereby they refused to accept the diamond was missing despite photographic evidence. We then went to a professional jewellers who confirmed 1) there was no diamond and 2) no diamond could ever have been embedded as there was no space for one. As Gemologica accused us of lying, we then sent the jeweller's contact details to Gemologica so they could hear it from the professionals. They then accused the professional jewellers of lying. We then asked them to select any jeweller's of their choice to whom we would take the ring for assessment. They refused. Eventually we had to refer the matter to PayPal who obviously found in our favour. Be warned: this company is totally disreputable and the jewellery you receive is nothing like what they advertise on their website.
