I can tell you that when my father-in-law died and we turned off his internet service, they acted like they were helpful and sent a box to return the equipment and gave us a very reasonable amount of time to return it, compared to dish network. However, THEY DID NOT SEND A LABEL even though the instructions and the website said a shipping label is included! We called and were told that we could take it to any UPS and they could send it out "as is".
WRONG! The UPS Store said that many people had come in saying that exact thing and that UPS did not have a contract with Hughesnet. What losers! If you aren't going to pay for the return shipping, don't pretend you are! Just be straight forward about it! They didn't even provide the address to ship the equipment to (of course not, they want $500) so I made the guy on the phone spell everything out letter by letter because I couldn't understand what he was saying when I called to tell him what we discovered about the LABEL SCAM! He didn't even try to deny it, by the way.
After reading MANY other reviews, I wonder can't help but wonder, if his bank accounts hadn't been frozen, would the money would have been stolen from him anyway, even though we sent everything back? We ended up going to the post office & paying $25 (money well spent!) to send it insured for $500 & with tracking info. The day after USPS showed it had been delivered his online Hughesnet account login no longer worked & the profile on their community that I was hoping to use to warn other customers with COMPLETELY disappeared! No acknowledgment of thanks or anything! If we hadn't been told able the LABEL SCAM by the guy at the UPS store, we would still be trying to play their game & waiting for a label thinking they were legit.
