I agreed a sale of £690 for my immaculate one year old iPhone14 Pro Max. After collecting it, I then got an email saying that the offer had been reduced to £0! They claimed it's an aftermarket replica, which it absolutely is not and is verified by Apple as being fully authentic, as purchased from a genuine store.

You are given the option to either reject the offer or, outrageously, accept the new offer of £0. If you accept the offer, the phone is then apparently "destroyed" leaving you with absolutely nothing to show for it. Makes sense really as it's a great way to rob people of their phones and then make money by selling them on, and also a way of scaring people into thinking they are selling some sort of fake phone. I obviously rejected the offer for a return.

They're very quick to arrange collection from your house using some premium pick up service by DPD, but are then slow in returning it, using the cheapest possible method going - I still haven't received mine back yet. Classic.

The whole model is a very dodgy set up, ready to either reduce your offer by a large amount, or in my case, to £0 in the hope of you accepting it and waving goodbye to your phone with nothing to show for it, allowing them to sell it on for 100% profit.

The call centre sounds like it's being handled by a bunch of slovenly infants, with no real grasp on how anything there works. Each person tell you something different and nobody knows what's going on. The customer services email responses are robotic and not even remotely authentic sounding.

I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I wasn't selling this because I am desperate for the money - it's because I've just got the new 15 and thought that keeping the 14 as a spare would be unnecessary. I only hope that people who are selling because they have a genuine need to cash in don't get caught out in this whole thing.

UPDATE: A phone was returned to me, and is the wrong phone. It's damaged, scratched and unusable. The one they have returned is obviously a fake, with no proper operating system or anything working. They have scammed me for the proper iphone and sent an aftermarket replica in return. They'll no doubt be selling on the real one now (mine) that they claimed was a replica before sending me a fake one back.

Mazuma are disgusting and a bunch of con merchants and crooks. How they are allowed to operate like this is a total miracle. It's now obvious that all the 5 star reviews on here are put there by Mazuma themselves.

They are criminals - be warned!

Tip for consumers:
Please do not get caught up in this criminal scam. Avoid Mazuma.
