I sought to withdraw my winnings from Betzest, who directed me to undertake their KYC verification procedure, which I duly did. They promptly rejected my proof of ID (PoI) document (stating that my document was too old), as well as my proof of address (PoA) document (stating that they do not accept internet service provider bills). I sought to explain myself by providing them with evidence that our government issued ID documents are not time bound, and that I did not have any other documents that I could use for PoA purposes, as all my other utility bills do not show my address details. Betzest simply re-sent their initial reject mail back to me.
I followed up the matter with Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), attaching the correspondence with Betzest as well as my KYC verification documents. They responded to me after a couple of days stating the following verbatim:
"Kindly note that as clearly outlined in our previous communication, we escalated this case with the respective gaming operator.
From the information provided, it seems that unfortunately you did not submit the requested documents and data in order to successfully complete the KYC process.
Thus, in light of this, you are requested to comply with the requests of the gaming operator, in order to solve this situation accordingly.
Considering all of this, from our end case is treated as closed."
Clearly, they did not bother to take into consideration my point of view, which in my view is what one does when mediating between two parties.
Also, note that Betzest does not seek to perform or provide you with an opportunity to undertake the KYC verification procedure BEFORE you make a deposit with them, whereby any issues that they are now raising, regarding the age of my ID, as well as the validity of my document for PoA should have prevented them from accepting the deposit my funds with them.
This is clearly fraud by Betzest with the connivance of MGA.
You have been warned!
