Having dated as a senior for an extensive period of time utilizing various sites, all I can say is 'LOOK OUT'
Finding someone appropriate is essentially comparable to finding a needle in a haystack. Many profiles are indescript BS. You deserve better than that. Many looking to date haven't done much or any dating and it's quite indicative when you read their profiles that they are out-of-touch.
To put things in perspective you may find yourself coming to the conclusion "all the good ones are taken".
It can be a time consuming, if not infuriating process and the services that match you for a fee aren't any better. Some of those doing the matching are those seeking to meet someone themselves. I met 27 women prior to finally dating a woman for an extended period of time.
It's far more than a nightmare, I could tell you stories.
In essence, these dating site aren't doing much if anything for you other than taking your money.
