Had issue with SB7 when unknown charges suddenly appeared on my monthly mobile account. The modus operandi appeared to be that when using eg youtube you inadvertently click on a link to this organisation and unknowingly become enrolled in a charge to phone, unwanted service. Easy solution us to disable "charge to phone" and premium services in your settings.
It appears their latest scam is now to take money from PayPal accounts when unsuspecting users give them their account details when responding to surveys/competitions for prize crediting.
Bottom line is check your bills and take appropriate action!
SB7 are business subscribers to TrustPilot but even with their previous reporting of reviews have failed to quell the plethora of 1* comments on that platform.

Only one review dated 2014 on this site v many on TrustPilot. I would agree with the review from 2014 but fast forward to 2022 and this is no longer the case. Mazuma as reported by more and more Trust Pilot reviews, including mine, are reporting that the tempting generous offered price is being dramatically cut by them on receipt of the handset with excuses like more than three scratches on screen (often when a screen protector is fitted) to the latest of "spots" on camera lens even though there has been no issue with photos.
Bottom line, having used Mazuma without reservation for many years I will no longer use them as they keep moving the goalposts and cheating some of their customers. Somewhat like buying a secondhand car and expecting it to be in showroom condition!
I will in future go with the phone suppliers no quibble trade in.

TrustPilot is a go to source for checking up on users current views about a provider. The ranking system is long standing and tested but I recently came across a statistical anomaly.
I had a bad experience with an organisation which had previously provided excellent service. On Trustpilot they are currently ranked as Good (4*) from almost 140,000 reviews. The organisation has been operating for around 12 years and their TP reviews go back to then when they provided a faultless service. Now several reviewers including myself are reporting over recent months that their experience is now Bad (1*). However as their current rating is based on all reviews, the current bad reviews are diluted out by their previously excellent ones from years ago and is not accurately reflected in their current ranking.
A more equitable approach is that adopted by eg eBay seller reviews. Here only reviews for the last 1,6 and 12 months are considered and categorised as Positive, Neutral and Negative alongside the number of reviewers for each category. The eBay approach reflects current activity by the seller and in a situation as described above is much more relevant.
As other commenters have reported Trustpilot are very defensive of their system and when I contacted them about the perceived anomaly they quoted their use of Bayesian Statistics in reaching their ranking. They do not seem to accept that a customer wants to know how a supplier is performing now.
I recently experienced bad service from a supplier who has a 4.5 rating and on reading the current reviews find several reviewers reporting the same issues suggesting the company has "gone downhill" recently from what had been a highly rated service.
There is also no doubt TrustPilot favour their paying business subscribers. I also had dealings with a scam subscription company who were operating on the borders of legality. Many others were rightly making comment about them but the company, obviously with good bad (!) lawyers were getting TrustPilot to remove and refer back to the reviewers for using words such as scam or fraud in their reviews but this company never responded to any reviews. One can only conclude that TrustPilot was complicit.

The bottom line is by all means look at an organisations TrustPilot ranking but read current reviews (if genuine) for information of how the company is actually performing now.

As other reviewers are reporting the once reliable go to, no quibble, service offered by Mazuma has now deteriorated with them now seeming to increasingly conjure up vague excuses to renege on their initial offers.

We were quoted £55 for an IPhone 7. This, to us, was in good condition having been kept in an armour case and with a glass screen protector. We were happy with this quote and duly sent the phone to them.

We were then dismayed to receive the following report by Mazuma of the very technical (!) "dark spots" on the camera lens, and therefore amending the initial offer of £55 down to £20, as for our purposes there had been no issues with taking photos with this phone.

"Apple iPhone 7 128GB Unlocked Our diagnostic software has flagged that the camera on your device has dark spots on the lens. Over a period of time dust particles work their way into the camera module. Often these are only obvious on a white background, nevertheless the camera module of your device will need to be replaced."

Having done extensive reading on the user forums about the issue they reported it would appear to be commonplace and even with some new out of the box phones. The consensus is that usually such "blemishes" do not affect performance of the phone camera as they are not focusable per se.

My wife was getting a new phone and had the offer to trade in, with no quibble but declined the offer in favour of keeping the above phone until the new one was fully set up and working. As a result the opportunity was lost and we were somewhat committed to dealing with Mazuma and its reneged offer.
Mazuma was recommended to us many years ago and their service was then excellent but not any more. We will no longer use or recommend them.
