I made a reservation to park my car at the San Diego Airport Terminal 2 Plaza for 12 days. On their site it gave prices per day and said that if you pre-paid for the reservation you would get a discount of up to 34%. I prepaid $386. For the 12 days but it did not give me any discount at all. I sent an email asking why I hadn't received the discount which was spelled out on their site:

Why pre-pay?
Save up to 34% when you pre-pay
Take advantage of the convenience of booking in advance

This is the answer I got:
Thank you for your email. Please be aware reservation rates are dependent on an algorithm that takes into consideration when calculating the discount to provide based on the day you are parking, number of other reservations already made for the day, days of your stay, lead time notice, and time frame during the year. Due to this the discount will vary and is not offered during peak times of the year.

This information was not on the website and I think it was really misleading. I was able to find transportation for my flights and did not need parking. I cancelled the reservation. Cancellation was easy and my money was returned promptly in 2-3 days.

Tip for consumers:
Basically I think I was dealing with a computer, not a person and given a standard response. There was no specific reason for not giving me the discount offered.

I booked flights to Maui on Expedia Itinerary # **************. I use Expedia because you have a 24 hour time to cancel or change your booking. The email I received from Expedia stated:
Expedia
Thank you! Your trip is booked.
Confirmation Details
Expedia itinerary number: **************
You'll receive a confirmation email shortly at (my email address).
You can cancel Opens in a new window. Your booking anytime in your online itinerary.
The next email I received had Alaska Airlines flights - the days were correct but the times of the flights were not. I immediately went back to Expedia and clicked on Cancel. Another screen had the message - this booking cannot be canceled. I talked with Chat and Jose said the booking could not be canceled. There was no confirmation screen before final payment, such as Amazon and all other retailers I have dealt with have. In a case like this there should even be a warning before you click on pay that this booking is the exception to the rule. I trusted Expedia and think this is very deceptive. I will not have this same trust in the future. When I went to the Alaska Airlines site I could not cancel the reservation and the customer service number had a ten hour wait. Not helpful.

I posted this two line review on LITB after I received the shirt but they did not post it, so I decided to expand it online.
It's not a sweatshirt. It's not cotton as advertised; it is mostly polyester. It photographs much better than it looks in person. In person it looks cheap.

Pictures of the shirts are beautiful, the designs are printed on silky stretchy fabric. They photograph really well for the advertisement but in person the design is flat with none of the dimension shown in the advertisement. The "sweatshirt" I ordered was listed as brown, but in person it is purple and grey. Even the cuffs and neckline are greyish purple instead of beige as in the picture which makes the garment look even more purple. The waistband, not shown in the picture is the same material as the body, not the ribbed fabric of a sweatshirt.

I think they took a picture of a really expensive designer sweatshirt and printed it on their fabric.

Although the package is shipped from New York or Georgia, they really come from China so be prepared to wait. I had to reset my password every time I tried to track my package. I did get good results from Chat which checked the tracking for me, gave me links that were helpful, filled out the service ticket and gave me a direct link to the customer service page.

Tracking was unreliable and said the package had been delivered on the 16th when it did not arrive until the 18th. Meanwhile I was sent an email saying there would be a 1-3 week delay in my order which sent me to their site in case the late delivery caused a problem if I wanted to return the item.

I was really disappointed because the price with shipping was about $25 and I was really looking forward to an expensive sweatshirt that looked really fashionable. But I would not have paid more than about $6 in Walmart for this item. The Lightinthebox item was described as a sweatshirt and advertised as made of cotton. The label on the item says 65% polyester 35% cotton and that is not what a sweatshirt is made of. The fabric is the same as the 3D printed t-shirts advertised, a light silky, stretchy fabric.

The RETURN
These companies all have the same return policies. They advertise that "This item is returnable". But if you buy from these companies direct from their site online you cannot return the item to the U.S. address on the label. The package has to be returned to China with all of the customs and international shipping costs that involves which you have to pay.

I wanted to return the shirt but after checking out the shipping options I decided to learn from the experience and cut my losses. I took the 40% refund and kept the shirt. Remember the refund is 40% of the cost of the item, not the total order. I got $7.34. I sew so I will take it apart and make something out of it.

I originally found these 3D printed shirts on the Chinese company's website (Youzhend). I was hesitant about ordering from China so I checked Amazon and the t-shirts were posted, so I ordered two of the patterned t-shirts. In the advertisement photo the design of one shirt looked like the universe but in person it was blurry as if the photo had been blown up too large and the gold part of the design which looked like a river of stars was not there at all. I contacted Amazon when the company, Youzhend offered me the keep-the-item-and-get-a-partial-refund and Amazon, after checking my claim, gave me a full refund almost immediately. This is why you should buy the item on Amazon. They stand behind your purchase. They allow you to take a chance on a questionable company.

If you can't find the item on Amazon, the only way you can protect yourself is to keep in mind that if you decide you don't want the item, you can keep it and request the 40% refund. It sounds crazy but returning the item to China (not to the address on the label which is in the U.S.) has to go through customs plus the international shipping which has to be over $10. Remember that the 40% is off the price of the item, not the total price that includes shipping.

Also be prepared for a ton of emails advertising their tempting prices and gorgeous pictures of lovely tops, but now I wonder what they really look like in person. Knowing what I know now I think some of the designs might look all right in person. Even now I want to try again because the designs are great and I haven't seen anything in stores or online that compare.

After this review came out I received a full refund including the shipping.

Tip for consumers:
Just read the review I wrote.
