My annual payment for my auto policy has always been very close to Christmas. I asked customer service if i could change my policy renewal date to another month. They said no. I asked why. They quoted their policy stating "the policy renewal date cannot be changed". They never answered why. When i asked to speak to billing they said their is no number for billing. So it appears that their billing dept hides behind their customer service lackeys who can do nothing but quote company policy with no explanation. I've never seen a company run like this. They're obviously afraid to hear complaints to their inadequate policies. When my current policy period expires I will NEVER insure thru Hartford again. It's not just the policy renewal issue either. Their rates go up exponentially every year. What kind of help is that to AARP members. Retired people on fixed incomes.

Tip for consumers:
Do your homework and not only shop, but look at ALL particulars regarding coverage and cost. Read fine print and lastly, make sure you can reach and speak to the billing department if their is an issue

I am a purchasing agent of 8 years for a manufacturer. While cost is a major factor in buying, quality also plays a major role. Zoro has great pricing on a vast majority of industrial supplies and parts. They are owned by Grainger and seem to compete against themselves. While Grainger has more to offer in services, their pricing to me is not worth it. While Zoro has less bells and whistles they delivery at good pricing. Some caveats when shopping Zoro:
Website is horrible for search criteria. Very limited and filters don't work well.
An item (with exact same mfr number) may be listed multiple times with different pricing based on dumb criteria. Quite confusing.
If an item's availability says "Ships From Manufacturer" or "Backordered", avoid it. You may or may not see it for a long while and Zoro is notorious for cancelling an order item within days of placing an order for such an item.
Customer service has 0 product knowledge so don't expect much from them on product info.
Order history search is dismal.
Website login is spotty at best. They should trash the online website and start from scratch.
The only saving grace is pricing and customer service with product issues or delivery. It barely makes the trouble of dealing with them bearable.
See attached example of confusing item listing. Quite typical

Tip for consumers:
If you're a one time buyer, no problem. If you use them for a "go to" industrial supplier, be ready to expect headaches and frustration ordering online

Food was OK at best. Had chicken fajitas. There were 2 wait staff and 3 customers in restaurant. Yet the servers couldn't be bothered with asking us if we wanted a refill on margaritas when glasses went empty. Had to ask for silverware. Had to ask for extra plate as we were sharing the dish. Chicken was slightly overcooked. Had to ask for sour cream which was suppose to come with the fajitas. Just an off night? I doubt it. Pass on this one and find scores of other good mexican food less than 1/2 mile into Williams

I am a purchasing agent for a paper mill. Have been purchasing from McMaster for the 8 years I've been with the company, usually serveral times a week. While there are many industrial suppliers with above average offerings and service, McMaster-Carr leads the pack. Their website is laid out concise, easy to navigate, simple. There search criteria algorithms are second to none. While they don't (or rarely) have the best pricing, their ease of use, fast delivery, access to endless product items and categories and a customer service team that set the bar for excellence trumps pricing. While a key factor in my posotion is getting the best price on any product, the best price is not always the best choice. Many products on their site have competitive pricing. Any industrial supplier great or bad could take a few notes on this company

Tip for consumers:
Everyone has their own set of criteria and expectations in shopping industrial supplies. They are not my only supplier, but definitely a regular go to. Try them. If they don't have it on their site they can source it.

I ordered an RV toilet. Placed order on May 6. Notified of shipping June 26. I log into account on July 6. Has tracking which shows delivery to wrong address on opposite side of country! Spoke twice to customer service, stated they would try to recover unit and re-route. If not, will place new order. I log into account today (July21) and it order status shows backordered. Customer service says was never delivered and tracking number shown on my account was for a different client! UNBELIEVABLE! Said new ship date is Aug 26! I told them to cancel order and credit my card. My first and last experience with CARiD
