I purchased some material from Sue Spargos, the purchase itself was smooth and any queries I had were dealt with promptly. I received a quote for the material which included delivery fees. I was happy with the quote and went ahead with my purchase. However, 3 weeks after delivery I received an email from Fed Ex (the company instructed by Sue Spargos to complete delivery) saying that I owe them £96 for custom and duties fees, Fed Ex information states that the supplier are fully aware of the fees and that they will be passed on to the customer. I would never have proceeded with the purchase if I had been aware of this. When querying this unexpected additional cost with Sue Spargos, I was given a short, sharp response to say that 'All international customers are responsible for custom fees, duties, taxes, tariffs or recurring fees when applicable. We have no control over these.' Surely if they are aware of these additional costs, they would have a duty to pass this information onto the customer prior to them agreeing to the transaction. I'm extremely disappointed and want to warn potential international customers to be aware.
