I just tried to cancel a $400 booking through hosteling.com. The website let me cancel, but they did not refund my money. When I called, I spoke to someone who barely spoke English who informed me that I would have had to cancel ten days before my trip. Not true. I tried to do so before the ten day mark and it still said then that I would be owed no refund. So now they have canceled my booking claiming they "can't retrieve it", and I'm out $400+. What a scam!
