It is a shame these guys just so simply lie - neither ethics nor any respect for law. There was a fraudulent loan on my house and I hired these guys to represent me in the trial after I won the Appeal from a motion ruling. I won the fraudster in a jury trial for fraud. I lost to the bank on a motion, appealed and won the appeal, remanded back to trial basically to collect the damages and these guys ruined my case as bad as the judge ruled against me that the fraud loan is enforceable. I hired Mr Stern based on the high reviews on AVVO that now, I know AVVO's reviews are filtered and perhaps fake high ratings by deleting the lower rating reviews. I paid him about 75% up front and within a few months the remainder upon his request for needs - months before trial started, a very high 5 digits payment. That would not go wrong with a prestigious law firm(?) Once he got fully paid he started asking for more, at the same time brainwashing me to settle. How to settle? Sell my house, the subject of the law suit that he was hired for. I almost believed he has an eye on my house for himself. When he realized the sell is not an option to me, he tried and certainly did kill my case. He not only lost my case so shamefully, lost my health, and also my prestige that I worked very hard for in the past 40 years. Then he asks for additional $15,000 to continue the post trial work after such a shameful loss, Meanwhile, files to be relieved as the counsel of record behind my back, without my knowledge and consent... I have a very painful experience with Harvey Stern, and his partners Mitch Sussman. Under the fully paid contract, he charged me additional $2,000.00 to make a phony opinion on a distinct matter. How they manage that? Harvey Stern praise Sussman as the smartest creator in the world, tempt you and convince you to give the case to them, and then they teamwork start ripping you off.

AVVO is a horrible site deceiving innocent people searching for lawyers. I was deceived by their 5 stars rating on a horrible lawyer. Hired that lawyer and I was destroyed and ripped off. When I tried to review that lawyer, Avvo denied my reviews 3 times. They have pre filled the questions at the best rating. That is AVVO.

I last put a review why this 5 stars has only A few ratings over 20 years?
Shame on AVVO for creating a platform or managing a platform to protect liars and crooks.
