I complained that my steering wheel was jerking from left to right and I thought that my tire belts were torn. I was told that my car needed, control arms, sway bar links, and front tires…$1897 quoted…offered $1500 and zero out the tires. Let's get it done on Friday.
Saturday morning traveling on 65S I hear a rattle and some clatter like my car was crapping on the highway. As I exited the interstate, I hear a thud while applying the brakes, sounded like a semi braking, foot off of the brake…nothing…apply the brakes again…oh yes that's my car…now I'm a dud sitting at the light of a busy intersection with my hazards on unable to move.
After the tow, from my insurance benefit, the caliper was not bolted down, came apart and was digging a groove into my wheel rim. I also found a socket jammed on the brake sensor. Why?
I have included a video and some still shots. Be mindful that I hadn't driven 25 miles from pickup on yesterday to breaking down on this morning.
Mavis, Irondale, AL, did okay on second try. However, I do need to return for the wheel rim, but I don't wanna!
