Ledger details provided through my banking provider, produce proof of the following:
• On the night of 1/20/2023, Cookout's supervisor (female) and cashier (male, with long dreadlocks), attempted to defraud me:

O My food was prepared to order as requested, but I was charged a greater amount
When I asked for a copy of the receipt to confirm the amount charged to my account, the cashier misinformed me by stating the machine was broken and a receipt could not be produced
I immediately called my bank, who confirmed that I was charged 2 dollars more than the item actually cost. At that time, I asked for the manager on duty
The supervisor came to the window, and supported the cashier's claim that the machine was broken; however, by that time, the male cashier who handled payment produced another receipt from the counter register, which was proven to have been fake, printed in the amount of 6.75 for "cash"
When I informed the supervisor that the receipt provided did not match the transaction, she responded, "Sir, I didn't do it. The person who took your money did it. Don't blame me!" However… I never blamed her at all. I simply asked her to fix the problem.
The supervisor then left the front window after also having scolded me for holding up the line while I waited on the billing issue to be corrected. The male cashier returned with his head dropped heavily after she [the supervisor] made a brief comment towards him
The cashier then informed me that the amount of the charge to my account had been reversed and produced a valid printed receipt of the reversal
My bank also confirmed that the transaction had been reversed
I enjoy Cookout and I am a supporter of the chain. You offer good tasting fast-food choices at reasonable prices. I don't enjoy being mistreated and in this case, having been initially defrauded and treated rudely by both members of your staff and management team.
I am writing you to let you know about this because it was obviously an attempt to defraud. It is likely that you are losing thousands of dollars because of the way that transactions are being managed, not to mention the adverse impact it is having on your local reputation with customers in the Statesboro, GA area(s) who support your business frequently.

Please address this matter in good faith and keeping with your corporate policies and moral/ethical values. My time was not considered and Cookout's employees attempted to steal money from me while treating me inappropriately.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful! If you are paying with cash, be sure you are paying for what you ordered and received. IF you are paying with a card, be sure you are paying for what you ordered and received.

If they tell you they don't have the ability to print a receipt, it's likely not true. Get your receipt and be sure that the receipt is consistent with your form of payment.
