I know as for me and others as well as my Hangout chat I use I never log off, I stay online because messages are sent to me via-text and by email which I get notifications and to where I can reply back right away, it let's the other know when you show online that you can reply back within a few minutes. You must be a rookie not to know this. I also use my smart phone to stay logged on ALL day, you don't need to log off unless you don't want to be bothered with text notifications, like me, if I were interested in someone and message her, it tells me that she is able to reply back right away. Which almost always happens. That's why also when you do log into all most any account there is a little square box that you can check to stay logged in too. Facebook users also do the same thing..
