I placed an order for Euros 5 days before I was due to travel. I completed their online order form and paid the correct amount in sterling into their bank account.
They then found every excuse not to 'dispatch' my Euros. Firstly, they said they didn't receive my money until the day after (my bank has written confirming their bank received the funds on the same day I transferred them). They then said at 09:00 in the morning that they had finished dispatching monies for that day and they would dispatch the Euros the day before I was due to travel.
I told them that wasn't acceptable. I had to beg for my monies back, so I could go and purchase elsewhere. In exchange for me getting my money back they charged me £443 for cancelling my order.
When challenged about their delay in dispatching the Euros purchased, the cancellation fees, the latest excuse is that delays in dispatching currencies are now COVID related.
It is no surprise that the £ to Euro rate went down between my order was placed and when it ought to have been dispatched).
I shall be issuing County Court proceedings to recover the 'cancellation fees'
