on 9/19/10I got burned by buying fake uggs too :( I think somehow I knew it was too good to be true, but I really wanted to believe I could get my uggs for 50% off...
How is this website allowed to be still in operation? All of the complaints and fraud and yet here they still are? What does it take to get them off the web?
All ripped off ugg buyers should be contacting paypal for putting their payment source on this (uggsonsaler) website. When a legitimate company joins forces with these website it compounds the problem and helps scammers prosper. At least credit cards can be canceled paypal and you are screwed twice by the scammer and the paypal co.
Eve, couldn't agree with u more, BBUUTT the part we play is believing we'er to busy to go outside shopping, oh an WE always look for a deal, hence, RIP-OFF, myself included... should have visited this site before puchasing from topoftownboots... whos website has been down for 2 days now pending my purchase! They are wrong for ripping people off but we'er wrong for voluntering... just my take on it, by the way learned my LESSON, will be returning my boots if i get them an goin to Nordstroms... gotta great sale going on!
So many fake sites are being advertised for Ugg boots and 1000s of peolpe are ripped off- me included.
Something should be done to stop search engines displaying them. Maybe it is time they were held responsible
For what is put on the webpages.
I received two pair of Ugg's. It took a little longer than the estimated time, but they are great! I got the classic tall ugg's for my daughter and the knit cardy style for myself... they came in original packaging (ugg boot box) I was a itttle nervous about how the payment went down at first, but I sent an email to the address provided and they responded within 24hours... so they didn't quite make it for xmas but they were worth the wait.
Chris... I think you deserve a real pair of men's UGGs from the real UGG company :)
Would like consumer bring down this website asap. It's not real UGG BOOTS
Has anyone successful had their money back from these fraudsters?
Has anyone been successful in getting a refund. I, too, was fooled by the website and the boots are knock-offs and I am trying to get a refund to my pay pal account. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mary
I contacted my credit card company. Instead of shipping overseas the credit card company told me to ship them to pay pal returns. Don't bother with paypal they will not help in this matter.
I too got ripped off by these fake Ugg-selling A-holes... but in my case, PayPal saved the day. I spoke to someone personally at PayPal (customer service number in the U. S is 1-888-215-5506)... I'd recommend speaking to someone personally before opening a dispute online, as an online dispute can be tricky. Here's why... PayPal will only get you your money back if your items weren't received. So, for example, if you placed an order with Uggsaler.com, and you were actually sent something in the mail (e.g. Fake uggs), then PayPal can't help you out. It's when you receive nothing from the "merchant" that PayPal will step in and get you your money back. The tricky thing about opening a dispute online is that the online dispute center has you specify why you need to open your dispute. It gives you choices to "check"... and if you happen to check a reason that PayPal doesn't deal with, you're automatically disabled from continuing your dispute claim. This is what happened to me, and it was a HUGE pain. SO... That's why it's better to call customer service and talk to a human. This is what happened when I called... I told them everything that happened, and they explained their dispute policy to me again (exactly what I just explained above... that PayPal won't refund you if you received something "fake" or something that was "not as described" when you bought it. The customer service rep told me that one thing I could do was to refuse the package if it arrived. By refusing the package (whether that means not signing for it, or sending it back with your postman), the package is technically not in your possession. The rep told me that after a certain amount of time has passed since placing your order (and with no package in your posession), PayPal can get you a refund. So based on PayPal's advice, I decided I'd go for it. But lo and behold, I had a refund within 24 hours. My guess is that so many people were complaining to PayPal about these effers (it was around Christmas, and I'm sure a lot of people were buying from these scammers), that PayPal stepped in and gave refunds. I don't know if the situation would be the same with credit card companies or banks. But I can say I did get a full refund through PayPal! :)
Outstanding, well done! 24 hours is a new record, I think. I totally agree with taking the personal approach with PayPal over this issue, I've seen it work too. Teenage girls crying on the phone and wanting to know why their moms can't get their money back are probably not what PayPal staff want to deal with.
It's a pity -- to say the least -- that PayPal can't be proactive and stop letting these people use their service in the first place. Hundreds, probably thousands, of Chinese and other foreign wholesalers, all dealing in nothing but illegal counterfeit goods, are happily using PayPal accounts. Well, of course, there's no proof that these people are selling fakes, is there? Not as far as PayPal is concerned, because it only deals with cases in which no goods are received at all. As you point out. And if you import illegal fakes, more fool you. But see, the thing is, if you, as the average customer, are expected to be smart enough to identify a counterfeiter and avoid buying their products, how come PayPal can't spot them and take their accounts away from them?
I just orderd a pair here a few days ago I am just reading this now and am freaking out what should I do?
