I went in for an initial exam as a new patient because my former dentist left the network. I was referred to Cypress Crossroads by my provider. At the time of my initial appointment more x-rays were taken than in any other exam in my entire life. A consulation with the equivalent of an "in house sales rep" came in and explained that I needed 2 quadrants in my mouth deep cleaned or that my teeth would soon fall out. I was told that 30 years ago by another dental group, too, but so far so good. The in house rep told me that my out of pocket cost for deep cleaning would be $1,100. I told them that I was not prepared at that time to spend $1,100 so I was sent on my way WITHOUT the customary 'regular" cleaning that is included in the initial and 6 month follow up exams. I consider this conduct to be extremely inappropriate, and unprofessional. I did not return and promptly found another dental group who examined and cleaned my teeth in the initial exam and said nothing about my teeth falling out if I did not have deep cleaning. BEWARE OF UPSELLING WITH this dental group!
