Sent them a 429 out of my 1966 Cadillac Thru my local Napa Dealer. Wanted to keep numbers matching car. Got motor back 3 months later. Noise, squeak from no oil in rocker arms. Valve train noise nice blue smoke etc etc. While under warrenty local shop cleaned rocker arms, Replaced valve guide seals, Lifters etc. Never had a offer to send motor back to them. And sound like I should be glad in did not. Just so they could take in apart and deny any claim on their part. I still have the fogging engine in my car and cannot afford to do anything about it so it sits in the garage most of the time. Ashamed to take it out due the the blue smoke. They said the rings need to seat and break in. Over 1000 miles and several years later they have still not seated. Junk to say the least. Wish I had kept the job local as well. Bill in Illinois

We also have a very poor quality marshall engine and have been put through the same customer torture experience. They won't even respond to our queries. The short version of this is not to vent here but to inform that we are preparing to go to the next step which is the Nebraska AG and file for litigation. We are confident they will blow it off as all others have encountered here and we will have to sue in small claims or maybe class action. We would like to combine our claim with others if possible to and bring such a suit that would force them to remunerate us all for our troubles, including damages for the mental anguish. The evidence is very clear that they are predictable in their business behavior in most of our cases. Our contact info *******@hotmail.com Email me back quickly so we can decide which direction to pursue as we would like to inflict as much swift, unforeseen legal trauma as possible. Give them what they deserve. *******@hotmail.com. Way beyond upset and now in focused damages recovery mode. (and we have consulted with our attorney) Thanks for your time and spread our message as I think we need as much response as we can get for this to be effective as the BBB is a joke and Marshall refuses to answer the complaints there. When we filed with the BBB there were 54 outstanding cases at that time. We Remain... *******@hotmail. Com

I too fell pray to Marshall engines. In September 2010 I purchased a remanufactured engine from Marshalls, A chevy 5.7 litre 350, very common motor, the day after my Certified ASE mechanic installed this engine it knocked.
We contacted marshall engines and their respones was simple, do thier diognostic tests and let them know what we found. We found shavings of metal in the engine and on the oil pan plug, the engine oil was dirty looking like the engine was dirty inside to start with and this was fresh oil. Bottom line is we found nothing to indicate the knock, however their was a knock, they told us we had to remove the engine send it back and THEY would determine what was wrong. I was very hesitant and told them so because once they had the engine who knows what they would do or say!? Thier response was send it back or go away. We did all the diognostica they asked for and much more, by the way the old engine failed from a spun main bearing, nothing to do with cylinders. So we sent the engine back, Keep in mind this has taken several months to get to this point. They recieved the engine and ten days later said it was cylinder wash which is when to much fuel gets into the cylinders and washes out the oil causing the pistons to scar.
This is rediculous because we put in new fuel injectors and the fuel pump was tested and within pressure specksand the spark plugs showed no indication of over fueling, their was not one code to indicate the engine was running rich, in fact the engine ran quite well except for the slight knock, We had three seperate mechanic opinions to the problem and they are all the same, given all the evidence it is highly unlikely to near impossibe that this is due to anything other than poor engine quality and poor building, the bottom line is WE ARE GETTING RIPPED OFF BY MASHALL ENGINES. They do not stand behind their products and YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM MARSHALL ENGINES, RUN RUN RUN AWAY. Better to spend a little more from a respectable company or the dealer rather than go through what we have had to endure at these ripp off artists hands, they are very good at denying claims because they just don't care. Oh and by the way if you want to sue a company from out of your state it is very hard but it can be done, go see your secratery of state, get a certifacate of non filing and then you can take them to small claims, GOOD LUCK IF YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH MARSHALL ENGINE AND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN ENGINE GO TO JASPERS OR YOUR LOCAL DEALER.
STAY AWAY FROM MARSHALL ENGINES IN KEARNEY NEBRASKA.
