I am a tenant at their property in Lakewood and I am being evicted with a very short notice and no assistance with relocation.

The Landlords Laurie and Howard have been careless and do not value their tenants. We had several issues in the past with the toilets clogging, mice in the house, issue with the front door to name a few. Even after repeated requests there was nothing done to resolve any of these problems.

With the short eviction notice, I am having to pay for relocation and other expenses in finding a new place and moving. The landlords are selfish and I do not recommend them!

We've rented from RentBuyOhio and dealt directly with landlords Laurie Patterson and Howard Patterson for the past 2 years. After dealing with them for 2+ years, they have made it evident that they do not care about the well-being of their tenants, just their money.

When they received a sale offer of the house in which 5 tenants were renting - they demanded that we all move out and have threatened to take us to court. They did not give fair notice and refuse to aid in our relocation.

During our rental period, the house was a mess. They were slow to answer to any requests from us (their paying tenants) to fix common issues like a sinks, washer and dryers, etc. There is a huge leak in the ceilings as well when it rains - in our 2+ years there, they failed to fix this ongoing issue. There were also mice that they refused to hire an exterminator for...

We've learned over the two years that Laurie Patterson is quite insensitive by her texting, on accident, my fiance's phone thinking she was in a different group text message boasting about how proud she was to evict other tenants. That lack of empathy is disgusting.

We are now seeking justice and compensation for the last minute relocation and they are refusing to help us.

Laurie Patterson of Rentbuy Ohio was extremely inconsiderate to all of the tenants and chose to give us the boot with hardly any notice, when occupying the place for almost 3 years!

Rent buyohio did not fix the mice problem or many of the other problems with this old house. Howard Patterson of rentbuyohio did not help either and sent us to their lawyer when we asked for help with relocation.

They are looking to profit and don't seem to care about the tenants. If you don't mind that, then make sure you get everything in writing and be prepared for the worst outcome.

I saw the 1 star reviews and numerous complaints for rentbuyohio and Laurie Patterson on various sites after we moved in - shame on me for not doing more research. I hope this message helps others in the future.

I have lived at this residence for 1 and a half yearsand I usually never post anything online but this company is now trying to force me out because they got an offer and no longer want to rent. They said the city was doing an inspection and I was home when they walked through and told me to my face the person was a "real estate colleague", little did I know that they were making the deal to kick me out. I didn't find out until a month later vis-a-vis a piece of paper taped to my front door and was not given proper notice. This is not my only complaint, just the motivator to write this.

The front door has been broken and when I complained the first month the incompetent "handyman" told me I would just have to constantly jiggle the lock. I have broken off two keys in it and have been inconvenienced in other ways as well. The shower makes a high pitched squealing noise and the stove grill is angled so my pans cannot cook evenly. Also, the washing machine is propped up on 2X4s and sometimes flies off because it is old and unbalanced.

This company in my opinion is a penny-pinching opportunist who is just looking to spend nothing and maximize their cut in every interaction I have been a part of. I hope that I can find some justice in knowing a future tenant will be hindered by this review.
