WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! I thought I must share my bad experience I've had with Scarpa's Shoes and Repairs at 244 Broadway, Stratford. My unfortunate experience started when I thought it would be good to protect the leather soles of my recently purchased original designer Valentino pair of shoes by placing a non-slip sole over it. I've decided to go to Scarpa's Shoes and Repair, 244 Broadway, Stratford. Big mistake! Instead of protecting the leather soles, David Deacon, owner of the shop, has scraped off the edges and surfaces of the leather soles, stained the surfaces of the upper calf leather, 'wrinkled' the leather interior sole of the shoe, etc. Given that the shoe was brand new, a designer brand and imported from Italy, it was horrifying to see the damages. David has waived the cost of the service but did not offer any compensation to repair the damages he made on the designer pair. I've taken photos to show the damages. I suggest that you think twice in going to this shop.
