Thoros charged my credit card right away. No socks after ten days! Email response from them was "we will try and get back to you in 3 business days, they are busy". So I will converse with them thru Social Media. So far I give Thorlos a one star and will buy Burton or some other brand of snow board socks that will send my my socks and then charge my credit card. Get some people to run your company the right way!
Tip for consumers:
That they charge your credit card, do not send you your socks, or do not send them in the year you order them. It is December 7th 2022 as I write this...And they really don't want to talk to you because they said they are very busy !!!!
Products used:
None. Charged my Credit Card. Ten plus days no socks, when I emailed them they said they would try and get back to me in 3 days. "business days" So I paid for socks I don't have and they do not want to talk to me !!!!
I'm giving 1 star because they have great socks... that is, when you do get them. I've been waiting a month and a half. They said they sent it by way of CA, then to HNL. Guess the socks have to swim here to get to me. Only one phone call saying that. I've been asking for them to resend because it's obviously lost in the mail. I've left several messages via email and phone calls. No refund and no followup. Terrible. How do you run a biz? And you're only selling one thing... socks! Unacceptable. Lame.
This is the first time I am writing a review of any business, but since my experiences with Thorlo socks has been so positive I wanted to help spread the word. Both my husband and I are very pleased with Thorlo's socks. There are lots of choices depending on the activities you pursue and whether you have certain kinds of foot problems, pains, or whatever. The people who provide customer service on the phone help you select the right type for you and I'm sure will be super helpful if any problem develops. (I've had none.) Do your feet a favor and try their socks.
Like numerous other Thorlos customers, I too have been victim to this business' unacceptable, unprofessional, and unlawful business practices. Consumers are unable to speak directly with a Thorlos representative and repetitively get a voice message greeting. In addition, the management / staff do not respond to customer calls nor email correspondences and charge credit cards for items prior to shipment. Victims of this business' unscrupulous actions can submit a consumer complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and file a claims dispute with their credit card company. ALERT: PROBLEMATIC & HIGH RISK SELLER!
I can't reach anybody by email or phone to get a tracking # after more than 2 weeks. Avoid the web site if you really need those products by in a store, or by an another brand. They don't really of there customers.
The customer service is terrible at ThorLo, Inc. They lie about the lifetime return policy, and they sent me defective merchandise on one occasion. Do not buy or trust Thorlos US.
I ordered a pair of socks from them about a year ago, and I admit I kind of liked them. So this year I ordered two pairs. They sent me the wrong size even though I ordered the same size as the previous time and as marked in their chart. I sent them back and explained they were the wrong size even though I ordered the right size. They sent me another two pairs. The same wrong size. (Tiny, closer to the size of my hand than my foot, see photo.) I wrote them a message on December 21. They sent me a reply saying they had a lot of inquiries and were running behind. I waited a little while and wrote to them again. They sent me a message saying they were having technical problems and would get back to me. I wrote to them again. They finally got back to me this week, Jan 25th. They said they were sorry for the delay and had my problem been resolved. I said no. They sent me a message saying they had had a lot of inquiries and would get back to me. I sent them a message saying you have never actually gotten back to me. They sent me a message saying they were having technical problems. They have never once offered to do anything helpful for me. I gave my socks to the neighbor's kid.
This is a great company! Terrific product and communication. I buy all my husband's and my sport socks from them. Have done so for years. They make a sock that fits his size 15 foot. Works for me.
I first tried Thorlo socks through an order from Zappos, and I quite liked them. Soft, good padding, comfortable. I found out they had their own site, and wanted to support the makers of these socks rather than buy at Zappos, but I ended up paying for it.
I ordered 7 pairs of socks on November 2nd, a Monday. I was expecting to hear about shipping within a week or so, but I didn't hear anything from Thorlo. I know shipping times during the pandemic can be delayed a bit, but every other company I've ordered from has been able to get things shipped out in, at most, 7 business days. And looking through their site, they made no mention at all to extremely slowed ship times.
I send them a message through their online contact form with a simple inquiry as to the status of my order around the 10th of November. I didn't hear back after a couple days, so I sent an email to their support account directly on the 12th of November and never got a response.
On the 16th, two weeks after placing my order, I gave them a call. On the third try I get through to someone and tell them about my order and ask about an update. They say my order has been "picked" and will be "packed" this week. They offer an apology after I mention that it had been a while without any shipping update.
On the 19th, two and a half weeks after the initial order, I get a shipping notification. The "socks" arrived today, November 24th. I use quotation marks around "socks", because upon retrieving the package from my mailbox, I realize the package is small, much too small for 7 pairs of socks. In fact, there only appears to be one pair of socks in the package. Sure enough, I open it up and there is only one pair of socks. The "detailed packing list" included lists only one pair of socks for my order. It lists a "start ship date" of 11/03/20, and a "cancel date" of 11/15/20. I'm not sure what the "cancel date" is, though I should mention I never once asked for a cancellation on my order through email or phone, and the full charge is still on my card. I received just one tracking number for my whole order. The shipping email said ALL of my items have been shipped, and yet, I have one pair in my possession.
In the end, I've paid $75 for one pair of socks that took over three weeks to arrive. Now I'll have to contact their elusive customer service again and find out what the deal is, though I doubt I'll be able to get in contact with them this week (Thanksgiving). So even if this issue gets resolved, it will have been over a month from order date for my full order to arrive, and an insane amount of time spent trying to track it down. These are socks, this shouldn't be hard at all.
My recommendation is to not buy from Thorlo directly. Buy from somewhere else. It's really a shame because the socks are quite comfortable, but this experience has turned me off of them for good.
