As a new customer I tried to purchase an item for $40 through their website. Their payment service posted the $40 pending charge to my account, then the cardcookie website said there was an error and my card could not be processed, which was completely not true.
When I contacted customer support, they said they had to cancel my order because my account was unverified, even though they never asked for any sort of verification before they took my credit card info. Customer support claims that I will get my money back once the pending charge falls off of the account, but with Christmas just a few days away I feel certain not to see the money before the holiday. Feels like I got cheated out of $40 the week before Christmas and I will NOT be giving them any of my business in the future.
Edit- I need to make sure I emphasize that customer service was responsive to my emails and that the pending charge was removed from my account. The whole issue seems to be the company's unfortunate policy of accepting payment from new customers on orders before they are actually willing to accept and process orders from those customers. In the end I did not purchase my item but got the pending charge dropped from the account after just a few hours.
