We have this paid service for technical support with our computer. Recently the computer/screen locked up so I called the toll free line for assistance. The woman I spoke to was very difficult to understand and I tried. It was very frustrating. She seemed to understand the problem and said I needed "this" to fix it. Ok, $359.00. Say yes, say yes she keeps saying and I'm taking her word we need this to fix the problem. Then she says we need this other thing to protect our computer. She still hasn't done anything to assist with the actual problem. Again she is very difficult to understand. Keeps saying Say yes, say yes! Ok, so trusting this person eventually I say yes. $550 more or close. Then she actually tries to help. Gets frustrated with me apparently and says she will have a technician call me right away. Well…after being on the phone with her for close to 2 hours I wait for this technician who is supposedly calling right away. Four hours later I'm still waiting and a guy finally calls back who actually does help. And also installs one of the services she sold me as well. It seems to me now when I look back on this that the initial contact I had with this company was basically to sell their products whether they are needed or not. I'm not very tech savvy and have relied on this company for computer assistance - not to be sold products by someone I can barely understand (language barrier) and technically don't understand. The technician when he finally called was helpful.
