Out of grievance with TMobile, we decided to give them less money and cancelled our protection plan with them and looked for a third party insurance. That's when we found Akko. After reading the reviews, I was so excited and relieved that we have found an affordable and reliable option for our family.

Almost a year later, my son's phone stops charging. It seems like the charging port is broken or loose. It took a whole week of back and forth emailing Akko just to get the claim approved. First we started the claim on the app. They then emailed us after a day, asking us to show them a video of the phone not working. We sent them the video expeditiously, within the same day. We waited 2 days to get a response. When we finally get a response, the reply we got was "Can you please confirm the make and model of your device?". Whyyyy didn't you ask that the first time? In fact, why didn't you include the required video and confirmation of the brand and model when I first opened the claim on the app? I feel that this is a delay tactic. Another 2 days go by and they finally say that the claim is approved. But wait, there's more work to be done. Now I can go to the repair place, ask for a quote and hope that they have the ability and parts to do the repair. Otherwise, you will have to wait for them to get the parts which can take up to a week. This is absolutely inconvenient. No thanks. Akko, I expected so much more. Dealing with a 3rd party repair shop is understandable, I can be ok with that. But the fact that you wasted a week with the senseless back and forth emailing, thanks unacceptable. I do not recommend Akko.
