I've had this insurance for over a year now and I just made my third claim for a busted screen. Even though it's difficult to get into contact with them and that takes extra time, they're usually very professional and they always pay out with their supposed to. The representative seemed nice and module and every time with them I've been satisfied with the results that I received. I would highly recommend them.

Now they won't respond to emails, texts or app chat. No customer service number that is monitored...Horrible, absolutely horrible

I've had AKKO phone insurance for 2 years, first time trying to use it. I want to give 0000 star review for this company. My phone screen is not working, it's black screen and can not see anything. I filed the claim to get it fixed but never get through. There is no customer service phone number to reach out. After I file a claim, I can not edit to update the photo on my account. Contact customer service by emailing many times with the photos about the situation, but they are still sending the same stupid questions again and again instead of helping me to get my phone fixed.

I've had this insurance for over a year now and I just made my third claim for a busted screen. I do not recommend this dumb Akko thing. It's a waste of time and money! You're better off getting proper insurance through AppleCare+ or your phone carrier! With Akko when my phone fell and cracked the back screen and after many days of back-and-forth emailing them to approve my claim, after approval, I was told to go to a website they provided, which was to get my phone fixed at an Apple location. Then I would have to pay out-of-pocket to get my phone fixed and then email them my receipt to get reimbursed. That's $499 plus tax y'all! I mean what the heck do you have coverage for? That seems a little too expensive for me. Thank God I had coverage also through AT&T and just got a whole new phone for 100 bucks.! Never again and I will never recommend that stupid place! Waste of money!

Their software is unusable. It is a totally bogus company You get nothing but mostly robot responses
I spent hours trying to use their software to take pictures of my phone and NEVER worked. You will not get a live person to response to anything. Most responses are contrived robot gibberish
STAY AWAY and be ready to call your Credit Card company to stop transaction!

Please do not buy phone insurance from AKKO, they will ask for photos on the day you sign up for their insurance but when you file for the claim they will say that the photos uploaded at the time of purchase were not clear therefore we are rejecting your claim, the photos you upload initially will only be reviewed once you have filed a claim and if your claim exceeds by $100 they will surely reject it saying the photos are not up to the mark, there is nothing the customer can do about this even if the photos are all good they will still reject them.

Broke the glass on the back of my phone, put a claim in with them. They responded they approved my claim. Went to asurion to fix my phone which they did a nice job. It was 120 to fix it. I sent the receipt and they responded that there would be a 99 dollar deductible on a 120 dollar repair, makes no sense at all. Tried to give a great deal of giving a 25.00 credit for future claims instead of sending me the measly 20.75 to my PayPal. They advertise deductibles ranging from 29.00 - 99. I would think a 120 repair wound fall under the 29.00 dollar deductible range, not 99.00. Feel like a total rip off and do not recommend them at all!

Stay Away, They will pay the first and maybe the second claim very quick but after that they will treat you like a criminal, like youre lying to them. First they tell you to get the replacement and then after they tell you that is not covered. If you don't believe me do it and you will see. They send me an email sating that I was denied due to information that they cant verify, I'm like come on you been asking me for so many things even statements from witnesses and after you deny my claim? II think they taugh I was not going to bring it but I did Im not lying,, Dont get on this better Go to another company even if is not that cheap! With a bit more than 15 per month you get a better deal with other companies... Ahh Most of their reviews are not legit!

This is my 2nd claim done with Akko and I have no complaints overall getting my daughters phone repaired. I found a guy that literally fixed the screen in 15 mins. I submitted the receipt and was reimbursed immediately. It takes a little work on your end but at $9 a month compared to $17 with tmobile, I have no issue taking a pic or 2 and waiting a bit for a reply.

Out of grievance with TMobile, we decided to give them less money and cancelled our protection plan with them and looked for a third party insurance. That's when we found Akko. After reading the reviews, I was so excited and relieved that we have found an affordable and reliable option for our family.

Almost a year later, my son's phone stops charging. It seems like the charging port is broken or loose. It took a whole week of back and forth emailing Akko just to get the claim approved. First we started the claim on the app. They then emailed us after a day, asking us to show them a video of the phone not working. We sent them the video expeditiously, within the same day. We waited 2 days to get a response. When we finally get a response, the reply we got was "Can you please confirm the make and model of your device?". Whyyyy didn't you ask that the first time? In fact, why didn't you include the required video and confirmation of the brand and model when I first opened the claim on the app? I feel that this is a delay tactic. Another 2 days go by and they finally say that the claim is approved. But wait, there's more work to be done. Now I can go to the repair place, ask for a quote and hope that they have the ability and parts to do the repair. Otherwise, you will have to wait for them to get the parts which can take up to a week. This is absolutely inconvenient. No thanks. Akko, I expected so much more. Dealing with a 3rd party repair shop is understandable, I can be ok with that. But the fact that you wasted a week with the senseless back and forth emailing, thanks unacceptable. I do not recommend Akko.

DISHONEST GREEDY CORPORATION! Of EPIC PER-PORTION I PAID MY MONTHLY RANSOM then when I was robbed AKKO told me I never uploaded the required photographs when I established my account and then they said the photos were received after the loss. I logged on to my mobile app with AKKO and retrieved all the information reflecting they r lying. So I'm going to give u the bottom line this company makes their money purely from scamming peoples monthly premiums and they Do not pay claims. The positive reviews left about the company are solicited or from friends. I am going to start a class action against Akko if anyone has had problems with Akko please contact me at * Maybe * would know why Akko has no working phones and they don't return messages when it's claim related

People. Listen. Do not get AKKO

Many of these 5 star reviews are fake, which is obvious. Generic names, 1 review. They are padding their reviews in order to get you to sign up and trust their company. I signed up because their ads are everywhere and although it sounded to good to be true, it seemed like a good deal. Well as the saying goes, if it's too good to be true, it is.

1st negative: they want pictures of all your devices and if they aren't right you won't be told until it's time to fill out a claim. If your pictures are wrong you'll be denied. Period. Again: they do not review your pictures, if they are wrong you WILL NOT BE TOLD THEY'RE WRONG. This is the experience of many people who have had AKKO. Search other review sites and Reddit for evidence of this. It's the most common complaint.

2nd negative: when it comes time to fill out a claim, they want more pictures. Your word isn't good enough, the pictures you provided at sign up aren't enough. They need more. Not a huge deal I guess but it's simply one more annoying aspect when you're trying to get your phone repaired.

3rd negative: response time is literally the longest response time of any company ever. Especially a company of this nature. Everything is done through email. It's terrible and takes roughly 24 hours. So if they email asking for pictures and you send them one, it will be another 24 hours before they respond again with the next steps. This is not an exaggeration. They are brutally slow. And if you're like me, your phone is your lifeline. If you break it, you have to get it fixed right away or you can't work. Luckily in my instance, my phone was still usable. But if it isn't? Oh well. Hope you have a spare while waiting for AKKO to actually respond. This is all before you ever get approved to get repaired.

4th negative: you don't get to choose your repair shop. AKKO does not have a list of companies they work with. They don't have a map or a network. They claim to work with any company who has over 4 stars on Google. But trust me, this isn't the case. AKKO would not work with my local repair shop despite them having a Google presence, Facebook presence and a Website with multiple 5 stat reviews. They wanted me to send my phone off to Samsung or drive an hour away to get my phone repaired by uBreakiFix. This was obviously a huge inconvenience especially when I was assured (before signing up) that they worked with "literally any repair shop who has over 4 stars on Google". That's a flat out falsehood. It was at this point I simply canceled my service. I don't play silly little games like that.

5th negative: customer service rep decided to get a little cute and snarky when I complained. I suppose I struck a nerve. That's okay, the truth hurts.

All in all AKKO is cheap but useless. Their process is brutally slow. They have a high rate of denying claims over pictures you take when signing up. They do not work with the repair shop of your choosing. You'd be better off self-insuring or going with a typical insurance plan that you get when you purchase your device. All in all, insurance companies make money off denying claims and banking on you never using the service. AKKO is no different. Proceed with caution.

I have been part of Akko since 2 years already. They are amazing. I have never had trouble with claims. I had 2 claims approved in just a matter of few months, no hassle and no question asked apart from the regular ones. They got a customer for life. I wonder if I can add my pc in the plan? Highly reccommend.

I used to have AT&T phone insurance and am glad I now have AKKO. I was paying a lot more for AT&T phone insurance at $15 per month and with AKKO you get a plan for $15 per month that protects your phone and multiple other electronics. I cover my macbook, apple watch, airpods, ipad pro, TV, and more with their plan. When I've had to file a claim, getting a repair was very quick. I was able to go to the apple store to get a fix and then was reimbursed by AKKO same day for the repair cost. Their deductibles are the same amount or lower than AT&T phone insurance option or applecare also.
