You go to this hotel to be in downtown, in the action, walking distance from events, main st, the market, the beach and some breweries. It's VERY VERY busy in the summertime. I recommend researching what is going on in town during your stay. You may never get any sleep and be surrounded by party people. Be aware of Penticton's dowtown population of homeless and drug addicts. Sometimes they are well hidden but other times they are very present all over downtown.
Have no expectation either for the old room or the new rooms...just keep your eye close about the cleaning level of everything. I much prefer the layout of of the old rooms, more space, normal bathroom, views, storage, ease of being in the room. The new building and the new rooms are smokin'mirror kind of room..."looks modern", poor layout and design and a very noisy building. You must inspect the shower tiles before getting cozy if you are sensitive to mold. The lake view rooms are worth the money, the parksview rooms in the new building are my worst choice and disappointing in overall.
I recommend this hotel for the location...for the location only if you are there to have fun walk to everything and can deal with lots of noise, dogs and people. This is not a hotel to go for enjoying yourself and your people in beauty and calm. There is nothing relaxing about this hotel. It's about the location first.
There is 2 -3 restaurants. You have to make sure they are open, for the cost, the Hooded Mergenzer is where we put our money on food since we know by the locals that the Barking Parrot is...basic expensive pub packaging food with the cost of "the view" added...but it's the place to be if your are there to party. Take note that the light and level of music will change after 9 pm...One look at the dress code of the staff and it was clear to us. We would have enjoy that place 20 years ago. Now we want nice, clean and quiet so we will be looking for a different place but certainly recommend the Lakeside to our kids for summer party place.

AVOID it. It's a franchise, distribution of carpet and flooring. Where stores are own privately. The franchise do not take any responsibility about the mal practice of their franchise. Overselling flooring, lying on schedule and availability, exaggerating and not being clear on square footage ordered, charged to customers and amount installed in the customers home. Professional cheaters salesman will say yes to all your questions, requests and confirmation to get your deposits. Within 1 week...your "in stock" flooring that you bought will be sold to someone else and you will be put back at the end of the queue without any explication on the situation. The "installation package" is misleading, unclear, not consistent and the terms constantly change. Once you realize all the lies and contact the owner, all the terms agreed on with the salesman are now not existent. Once you can prove and question them about lies and cheating practice of them, they will threaten you with keeping your deposit and abandoned the project or force you to pay all in full even if there is no flooring to be found. You will be cheated on...square footage and on what's is included or not into the installation package. Take note that all their installers are independent regardless of what they tell you. This is important for you to know since this will be the reason they will tell when you will notice the poor quality of installation, unfinished job, missing transition and finishing details. Just go somewhere else

Everything is wrong...from the way you get redirected over and over to end up being match for a 40 min survey for 12 points when you clicked on a 10 min survey for 90 points. They do not solve any issues you may have. You will sit for 20 minute and have 12 attempt to do survey but just keep redirected or 90% of the survey presented to you today are "filling up quickly"...so you might get 1 points...or they are full and get redirected again...and again...again Nothing but frustrated, time wasted for 1 or 2 points...
I gave it 2 stars because it's only for surveys and the dashboard is easy to manoeuvre and understand and because the pay out is fast and easy...good thing since you logged in, spent minimum of 30 minutes and maybe got a total of 25 points...it takes forever to make $5
