The site is legitmate. The interface is user friendly. I was able to create a crossword within 2 hours, but after I tried printing it in "free trial period" I couldn't. I was able to download it, but not print. Even trying to print from.pdf, it wouldn't allow me to. I cancelled what I thought was a "free trial membership." I used a different browser and tried it again. Since I had cancelled, I had to "rejoin" using my credit card again. This time, I was able to print it. So, it's not really free at all if you want to print and share it with people.
The disclosure of their refund policy is buried deep within the website and full of conditions. I looked up NY state law where they are incorporated, and it doesn't appear they are violating it. As most said here, they are shady at best, fraudulent at worst.
I sent them an email about removing my credit card from their site. I don't believe they have a strong site. Plus, I don't want them to auto-renew. The only option is to cancel, but when I cancel, I can't use it. So, they force you to keep it active, hoping you will forget and it autopays for the next year. All other subscription services has an option to cancel, but the membership will be active (and I have full use) until the date of renewal. Not with this company. You HAVE to keep the account active and credit card has to be on file. Otherwise, you can't use your account, even though you have already paid for it a year in advance.
I'll be complaining to the the BBB and Attorney Generals Office as well to see if any laws have been violated as well.
