I pay by credit card because supposedly it affords you a degree of protection if you find you have been scammed. I hired a roofing company to replace some fascia board and gutters and put in a drip edge. They first installed ridged, wood-look fascia board that didn't match my smooth fascia board. I asked them to change that. They used cement board, which, not being in the trades myself, I did not know was not reversible. They reversed it. I found out from the manufacturer that you cannot do that. The company was by that point not communicating with me. They had messed up other parts of the job including promising to take care of paint, then putting that on me. And showing me one color brochure that was for aluminum gutters not steel, so they brought out a color I had not chosen and will have to have painted to match the windows -- more expense. The company was not even a real company -- it was just a guy who went around getting people to sign on for gutters and/or roofs, and then the guy goes around to other crews to see if they want extra work! The job had to be redone. I submitted all evidence to the Chase dispute department. It was torture dealing with them. They would say they didn't receive things that I had the personnel at my local Chase branch fax to them. Then we would fax again. Then they would say they had the material after all. Then they would say they didn't. And on it went. Totally unprofessional. They were in an outsourced telecon type place overseas and seemed to be reading off a script. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was cut off. It takes about a half hour to get through to anyone. If you are cut off, they will not call you back. You have to start all over no matter how many hours of your time it takes. I wasted hours and hours trying to dispute the charge only to be told, without any substantiating reasons, that the charges from the scam company were "valid." I had my credit card with Chase for decades. I shut down the account. I am also in the process of closing my substantial savings account with them and moving everything to other banks. Supposedly being a "private client" is supposed to afford you some degree of extra assistance -- it didn't. Just more Chase b. S. It was bad enough getting ripped off and having to have work done twice. Chase made it ten times worse instead of helping. Don't bank at this place. As long as you are helping them, you will be fine. If you need any help from them, you won't get it.

You won't get honest and accurate information from this site because in the discussions bullies run rampant. In window discussions, for example, people who are obviously in the industry put themselves forth as "experts." If you have a problem with a product and post about it, they will make it all about you and not the product. They will call you names (Karen, etc.), belittle your experience (it had to be YOU not doing YOUR homework, not any problem with the actual product), and relentlessly make fun of you and your experience. They could always just post their opinion without any of that, but they don't. Very obvious attempt to scare off anyone from saying anything about the stuff they install and/or sell, thus controlling the narrative to the point of total inaccuracy. Steer clear. The administrators do not step in -- the flagging system seems to do nothing. Until they stop the bullying and require that people post about their OWN experience rather than invalidating the experiences of OTHERS, the site will remain useless for helping consumers with their renovating / building concerns and dilemmas. Too bad. It used to be a great site before the mean kids took over.

Tip for consumers:
Don't!

3/7/20

So I've been watching Daily Kos comments for awhile. I signed up today, and gave some "recommended stars" to some comments, and then made some comments of my own. I'm a senior citizen -- not a "Bernie Bro" by any means. I pointed out that there were similarities between trump and Biden that made me uncomfortable, and that I didn't feel young people would ever get out to vote for Biden. I also said that I wanted real change not just the same old status quo. I was almost immediately taken off and have not been allowed to reply or comment since. Daily Kos is biased and controlling the narrative but pretending these discussions are open. The corporate head of KOS is apparently endorsing Biden. This site is nothing but a centrist/corporate/DNC type of a thing with just a tiny spattering of mildly pro-Bernie / worried about Biden comments. Stay away from this site! It is all phony and staged, and it is impossible to unsubscribe -- they ignore your unsubscribe requests (I've tried to unsubscribe in the past many times and again this afternoon). So I still have tons of nasty comments coming in saying how spiteful Bernie Sanders' supporters are that they would not vote for Biden just to get rid of trump, etc., etc., (i. E. tons of B. S.). There are some glaringly false comments suggesting Sanders voted for the Iraq War just like Biden (which he did not), and you can't correct them. It was ok for me to be called all sorts of terrible things by people commenting, but not ok for me to say why Bernie Sanders is the better choice and more electable than Biden by far. Something is really wrong with that. In fact, it is un-American. There are still comments coming into my inbox saying I am a "Russian troll" straight from Moscow (and I cannot answer them)! Considering my grandparents left Eastern Europe in the early 1900's and faced considerable hardship to begin a life in America, that is very painful.

I bought the ultra thin lenses with the coating that was supposed to prevent glare and reflections. When I received my glasses, the lenses were thin, but because I had anti-reflective / anti-glare coating in the past I could see right away after putting the glasses on that the coating was either not there or highly inadequate. I contacted their "support," and was told the coating was there. They asked me to send a picture, which I did (the picture showed how you could not even see my eyes because of the glare/reflection). They wrote back to tell me that is how they are supposed to look because the glare is being reflected away! That is, of course, absolute nonsense. I wrote back and got yet another person who said there was nothing wrong with the lenses, and there would be no refund of any amount, but I could send them back to have them looked at (why do that if there isn't going to be a refund? And what do I use in the meantime?). If you say "white," Lensabl support will say "black." It was a frustrating, awful experience, and I have glasses that my eyes cannot even be seen through the lenses the reflection is so bad. I would have been better off going to my regular optician and just paying the extra $100 to get quality lenses and coating that enables my eyes to be seen. What an expensive lesson! Spend a little more, and get glasses done right! Quality coatings and lenses make a HUGE difference. There is no number to call, so you have to email them and then wait (and wait) for a response.

Wish I had come to Sitejabber before signing onto Nextdoor.com. Joining nextdoor.com has been a negative experience for me. I was trolled and cyber bullied by a small group of "men." Didn't matter what the topic, they were always there. They could say anything they wanted basically. The leads would do nothing for long periods of time then step in and remove an entire discussion punishing all the people who took the time to make thoughtful, intelligent non-abusive comments. I went directly to nextdoor.com using their help line. Some of the bullies' comments were removed, but then the bullies would just repost them. Then nextdoor lectured me when I spoke up for myself and spoke back to the bullies to set the record straight and correct their deliberately false statements about me. Unlike them, I was polite and truthful. But somehow nextdoor.com categorized this as the same thing the bullies were doing. It was crazy making. Bottom line -- there is no protection from cyber bullying and trolling, and you do not dare speak up for yourself even if you have tried to get help from nextdoor.com and have not received any. From now on, I will thank people and post links to helpful information, but that is it. It isn't safe for me to do anything else. Nextdoor.com lets trolls and cyber bullies win.

  • Care2

12/14/15

I was really excited about finding and joining care2. The many articles about animal welfare and vegan / vegetarian issues as well as the personal page set-up and friends links made me think this was a form of social media like facebook only better. I enjoyed earning points for commenting then "redeeming" them as selected charitable activities although the actual charities were never named (just "one farm animal humanely raised" for example). My experience started to decline when one of my care2 friends wrote me about her experience when she posted a comment about Islam looking at animals, and especially dogs, in such a negative light as to actually encourage their mistreatment. Care2 contacted my friend and asked that she change her comment. Then that same friend started to have her earned points disappear. She would write to care2 only to be ignored. Then she and I started to communicate using our personal emails because she told me that many people had been barred from care2 sometimes for no reason at all and without warning. Around that time, I started to notice that a group of five men and 2 women were taking over the comments after any article pertaining to the benefits of being vegan and/or vegetarian. I didn't yet fully understand what an internet troll was. I just knew that these people would post the most rude, stupid pro-meat nonsense you could possibly imagine. Tons of outdated, fearful falsehoods about the damage people do to themselves by not eating animals, and crazy comments about how vegans and vegetarians are mean to "omnivores" and the World Health Organization is part of a vast vegan conspiracy and so forth. They would play with people's names and just be generally immature to the point of sounding like some mean high school clique. They would over post comments to bury the thoughtful comments that expressed genuine concern about the plight of farmed and hunted animals. A couple of them posted graphic descriptions of how they slaughtered and took apart goats and rabbits just to upset people. I made the mistake of getting involved in commenting to them and supporting the position that vegetarianism and veganism is good for the planet and good for one's body and soul. I was ripped to shreds, insulted, made fun of and cyber bullied to the max culminating in one telling me to "blow him" and accusing me of being the "lesbian lover" of another care2 member and stating that my partner of 30 years was "imaginary." I responded by copying and re-posting this man's graphic description of him slaughtering an animal with a warning to other care2 members. I asked care2 for help, and they chose to do nothing until, after many weeks, they barred the man and then barred myself and the other care2 member who he made the sexual comments about. Neither she nor I ever received a notice, email anything explaining what we had done to deserve such a fate though we have written many times asking for such an explanation. It is, of course, a simple matter to go back on with a new email and identity, and, perhaps, that is what they want so they can show their advertisers how many members they have. They have never deleted my page though I cannot use it now. Fortunately, I can still communicate with three of my care2 friends because we exchanged personal email addresses. Also, there is something wrong about the way they fund the animal, environmental and social projects they claim to fund -- where is a list? Where is any open information about the specifics of who received what? I really am feeling like this is a sham. The environmental and animal welfare articles seem to be there to lend legitimacy to a darker agenda. To any one thinking of joining or advertising on this site, I urge caution. You may be inadvertently supporting something you want no part of.

I purchased a Honda Pilot cargo tray as a gift. There were a number of Honda Pilot cargo trays listed on their website. I had filled out a form listing that the Pilot was a 2014 model. I eventually chose a folding cargo tray that had a small line at the end of the description saying it was for a 2016 Honda Pilot. This was NOT in the title, just at the end of the description. Having already filled out the online form stating the Pilot was 2014, not receiving any notice of a conflict in ordering, and not seeing the 2016 information after the description, I ordered believing I had ordered a folding tray for a 2014 Honda Pilot. When I realized the mistake after the tray arrived, I called customer service to complain. I asked why, since this tray was only for the new 2016, did they not list "2016" in the title of the product description. I was told they just don't and it was all my fault for not noticing the line after the description and I would have to pay to return. I called my local Honda dealer, Front-Range Honda, and they said I could bring the tray to them and they would give me a credit so I wouldn't have to pay to return it to Bernardi. I then re-ordered, this time from Weathertech which has a better tray with a higher edge to protect from spills. All is well that ends well, but Front Range Honda and Weathertech made this end well. Bernardi customer service was arrogant, rude and completely unhelpful. I am out the original shipping and will NEVER buy from them again. They should have admitted they had an incomplete product description title and have issued a UPS pick up slip.
