When I purchased my Lenovo computer at MicroCenter in Marietta, GA, I had a heart-to-heart with the salesman. I told him I didn't want an extended warranty because my Gateway Laptop stayed at Gateway for over a year and I had to buy a new one anyway. He told me that because the repairs are done locally at Microcenter, they had resolved the problem of long repair times. I bought a 3-year warranty. That was around January, this is October. The desktop failed and I got a replacement. The desktop failed again, and I contacted Lenovo to see if they could fix it, and they referred me to BestBuy saying BestBuy would have the failed motherboard and could repair it within 24 hours. BestBuy, on the other hand, told me they needed 3 days for diagnostics, and then they would ship it to Lenovo, which would take another 3-4 weeks, plus shipping. So, I reluctantly took it back to Microcenter. They told me 10 days to do the diagnostics and then they would most likely ship it back to Lenovo for repair, and that it would be over a month.
I can't be without a computer for a week, much less a month. I've clearly made a bad purchase with this Lenovo T5 26IOB6 computer and a 3-year Microcenter warranty. A warranty that takes a month to repair a desktop that just needs the thermal grease replaced is unacceptable. The repair is done. I paid for it out of my pocket. It's the second repair I've paid for out of pocket. It took about 3 hours at a reputable repair shop. But if it fails again you can certainly count on another review.
