I placed an order for new appliances on 12-7-15. After a week, there was no update as to any shipment or shipping date. I tried calling (left messages), emailed and was getting worried about my deadline for the project I ordered these appliances for. Before buying from this company, I looked online and found amazing reviews for them. I guess I should have dug a little deeper... or it should have sent a red flag that almost ALL reviews are 5 star. Who has 99% of reviews 5 star? Digging deeper... I found the 1 star reviews and BBB complaints.

Well, I finally got a hold of their sales dept on 12-17-15. I asked about my order and was told that it would be shipping soon from the West Coast to them, then BACK to me on the West Coast.? That wasn't acceptable, and the timeframe given was beyond vague (a common complaint I found). I asked for my order to be cancelled and my whole charge refunded to my credit card. The sales rep agreed and let me know it would take 15 days to process. I wasn't happy, but agreed to the 15 days. (quite a few complaints about 15 days stretching to 30, to, 45, to 90, to never!)

At the 13 day mark I received an email advising me that the refund was going to take an additional week past the 15 days. No, not going to go down that path. It doesn't take that much time to refund a credit card. I gave them until 1-4-16 to refund me (I was being nice because of New Years short work week). Well, 1-4 came and went without any contact or refund. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and will hopefully see my $1700 back in my account.

Still haven't heard from Appliances of America, and won't be one of their "5 star customers" that ALL seem to tell a story the complete opposite of the experience I had with this company.

Their website is great, prices are amazing, free shipping, no sales tax... almost too good to be true. Again, should have remembered my grandfather telling me that when I was younger.
