A lot has changed since 2009- especially the way we source and vet jobs. Aside from the obvious- our jobs pay $100K and above and we have a continually-improving vetting process around that- we've built lasting relationships with companies and recruiters that have a vested interest in interviewing and hiring via our jobsite, leading us to have more engaged users on both sides of the house (jobseekers and recruiters). Doostang has stale job postings majority of the time. Even if the job posting is current, it is available elsewhere as well (on indeed, simplyhired, monster etc.)
I think Doostang and The Ladders are scam and should be avoided - all they want is your money and not deliver anything of value.
