They have some of the best selection & they at least try to make their stuff higher quality that most keep in mind with the criticism i am about to unveil, this is still the freshest company I've purchased from in the hardships of 2022 when EVERY food co. Is having issues... ill start by saying... u never know which bag u open will be the quedtionable one. For ex in my 1st order... while the cranberries, brazil nuts, walnuts & blueberries smelled & tasted very fresh, the mangoes & pecans smelled immensely fermented. Idk if this was intentional, as some people do sell dried fermented fruit at a pricy rate... similar to the idea of kombucha... but there was no clear description saying it was INTENDED to be fermented. And that's what worried me. Probably was safe to eat as it did not smell spoiled at all just fermented. I was too weirded out to test it but our laying hens got a very expensive snack...(a small bit of fermented things is actually good probiotics for their natural digestistion.) If they would've labeled it "dried fermented mangoes" I would've said ok it's supposed to b this way its safe for humans. But I saw no such obv. Labeling making me think it wasn't properly preserved.

Ordered a few times from them. Actually it was really nice they sent it super fast and they have so many options to choose from. However, i'm only giving 4 stars because unless you're looking for AGED meat, the quality is not what you would expect. Their "fresh" and "non-aged" meat is absolutely AGED all to hell. Sure it's shipped right after it's CUT, but it's cut like 4 weeks after the animal has been hanging in a cellar. It's just as aged as the aged meat. The packs are purple and pink, not bright red as they should be and as the photos on their website display them. They taste aged when you go to cook them... save for a few soup bones all the red meat is aged.

So at first i was a bit hesitant to try a new company, especially with not many reviews to look at outside of their website. I mean the reviews are positive, but i could only find like 1 or 2. Then again, the lack of reviews means while not many people care to write one, the company doesn't falsely boast their reviews, either.

The only abundant source of info. I could find to decipher really about the company was their social media. I admit... i basically dissected their youtube channel lol. Not only did i watch many of the the videos, themselves, but i also did some digging into some of the comments, to see if i could find the reactions of actual customers. Through this, i learned alot more about the company, and the people who run it. Whereas otherwise, i'd be going into this near-blind. I hope this review helps others make a decision without having to do all those hours of extra digging i did. But in the end it was all worth the time to me because i found a second reptile company i can actually trust!
HOW I FOUND BHB: in the past, i admit because it was safer to stick with a co. I trust instead of trying somethin new... i'd always just used snakesatsunset, but when ur looking for something real specific, sometimes their selection is not sufficient. I first found BHBreptiles while looking for a place that had a broader selection. And i was quite pleased with the selection i'd found.

GENERAL REVIEW: my first purchase i was very happy with. I'd gotten a ball python & a milk snake. The ball python i was actually able to hand-select from a listing where u get the exact snake that's in the picture. The milk snake was just from a stock photo, so u didn't know the exact snake u were getting, but i think they picked me out a really nice one!

My second purchase was just as positive. I would've bought the corn snake alongside the other two, but at the time they didn't have most of their 2021 corn snakes up yet and i'd stupidly assumed that they just didn't have many cornsnakes. Well... sure enough month... months later there are all these amazing corn snakes to choose from & i finally broke down & bought me another one.

APPETITE OF ANIMALS: The cornsnake is brand new so can't say much about feeding etc yet on him but the other two i've had for a handful of months now... they always eat like champs!

PRICE & HONESTY: their price i'd say, depending on what it is, is average - high side of average. But you get the promise of an honest company, who doesn't scam you. For ex, the corn i got was a normal HET. Many places would fake that, but with this place... i know i'm always going to get exactly what it says i will get. If you watch any of their youtube channels, which i'll get into later about... you can see this isn't a company that's in the buisness of purposefully producing many normals. Most their normals come from breeding projects for other, often rare, morphs. It's not like your typical "pet store" atmosphere where they're catering to people who just want pets... i truly believe this guy is literally obsessed with breeding the most insane snakes and then on the side, he sells the stuff he doesn't want to keep, or that he knows is really popular.

CUSTOMER SERVICE & ANIMAL SAFETY: When they go to schedule your order, they are so concerned about the animal's well-being that actually have to speak to you personally on the phone to schedule (not email, txt, etc) or they will refuse to ship it. They don't have that much of a reception staffing, so sometimes i've noticed if you miss their call and try to call them back, sometimes you get lucky and get them but most of the time they don't pick up but they always call you back.

The scheduling call itself is very informative. They go over what the snake is eating, when he/she last fed, pkg signature requirements, etc. i have had snakes for many years so for me it's more piece of mind than anything. But for someone who's never had a snake as a pet in their entire life, this information double-checks people are properly educated and they're also willing to take the time to sit there & explain stuff if u ever have a question about something, which is really nice. Not every business will take the time to do that.

GENERAL OVERVIEW: i've bought from them a couple of times, but it's always just been snakes. I bought a leucistic ball python, and two anery corn snakes. They always sent me exactly what i ordered, never scammed me & that's alot coming from someone who has been scammed by other companies in the past, just trying to find a reputable one.

SELECTION: Their selection is at times a bit more limited than some other places, but you can't beat their honesty. It's actually my first choice for snakes, provided they have the species/morph i am looking for.

HEALTH OF ANIMALS: both times, you could tell they really took good care of their animals. Even the ball python was a very healthy weight. I mention this only because most other ball python breeders i've run into will basically starve them to save $. They put the health of their animals before $ and that is very important to me.
LONG-TERM HEALTH: all three snakes ate like champs at the first time i fed them, and have continued ever since. The ball python is a couple years old now and the corns are several months of age. They never had any signs of mites, tremors, kinks, etc.

TEMPERAMENT: you could tell these guys had already had a few short bouts of handling. They were fairly tame, and easy to handle. They never coiled or hissed, at first were a bit shy but still calm. Only took a few weeks & they'd already lost most of that shyness.

CONS: perhaps the #1 downside here is that in most cases, you can't select a specific snake. You can choose male vs female, but it's a stock photo so while it will be very close, your snake may or may not look exactly like the one in the photos. I've never tried to make a special request, though. They might actually take special requests? I just know that if you do not specify, you just kinda get luck of the draw.

This next one probably is only an issue for me bc my geographical situation is quite unusual... and it's not really a con because i understand why they do it. They're doing it for the safety of the animals and i actually prefer that over convenience. Im in a rural area, live over an hr away from the nearest hub. On their website it basically mentions that sometimes even if temps fall within safe range, they may still decide to hold at the fedex hub. For this reason, i am hesitant to buy in when temps are barely above/below required lows/highs. But really it's not too much of a inconvenience all i have to do is time all my orders with the weather.

So here's my whole experience... brace for it... it just keeps getting weirder and weirder... i'd accidentally auto-filled an old number, they come back with "order on hold, incorrect number" with nothing else, do not say how to fix it. So i give them my order # as proof of my order, and change the phone number to the correct address. They send back a screenshot with the convo they had from the person who apparently now has my old number and all it said was "order still on hold" again, did not say anything on how to fix this problem. So at that point, i figured i have to re-order with the correct number. They then claim that all i need to do is verify what was items were on the order. So i did... but then they said..."i'm gonna send you an email of what you need to do" so i was like ok what ELSE do i need to do? They give me a fee, NO explanation for the fee whatsoever. So i assume it's either a shipping, relisting, or "seller inconvenienced" fee. I pay the fee, presumably for the wrong phone number on my first order. Despite NEVER mentioning this before, they come back saying "it was because an item you ordered was out of stock and the next closest was more expensive." he NEVER mentioned this. So, i actually sent a SCREENSHOT of the email, showing they NEVER mentioned what that fee was for. At that point, he realized i wasn't going to fall for his bulls*** and decided my retaliation for his dishonesty was not worth the risk. I dont' know what's up with these people, because they DID refund me. That's what the 2 stars are for... 1 star would've been if they hadn't... i just think it's a bitter old man or something who runs this business and expects everyone kiss his toes and to play his stupid game.
