After reading the John D and Torrez reviews I had to chime in to clarify a few things.

Regarding John D. Package forwarding companies are closed on Saturdays because the most of the major delivery companies do not make deliveries on Saturdays (unless it's a special Saturday express shipment which is extremely rare).

As far as "dealing with customs" in other countries; when it comes to international packages the shipper does not "deal" with customs. It's the courier company that has a system in place to clear items in each country where they perform deliveries. If a particular country has a customs service that is notoriously difficult and expensive (Brazil) than that is the fault of no one other than the customs office itself.

Regarding showing up at package forwarding warehouses. These are not retail store fronts. John D was able to pickup his box in a shipping warehouse, which is all he wanted to do, not sure what kind of welcome party he was expecting.

Regarding Torrez, anyone who gets upset about having to pay duties and vat to a courier on delivery has no idea how international shipping works... actually, duties and vat charges is the number one complaint from consumers about sellers and couriers... no one has control over duties and taxes, they are payable by law and getting upset at sellers and couriers about them is a futile exercise. The second most common complaint is regarding dimensional weight. Amazon and other companies are notorious for shipping a small item in an over-sized box, if this happens to you just ask your package forwarding service to re-pack into something smaller.
