If you want to compete with other renters for a unit, be prepared to be ignored and kited in to auction-style up-bidding for a place that isn't worth what you'll pay for, anyway.

Chicago's Fulton Grace Realty is the worst of the worst! They "screen" tenants based on their misconceived concept of ability to out-bid other renters while the company posts properties for way less than the owner is asking to get a bidding war going.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Property owners, your units will go unrented for months and you will become desperate and lose sleep.
Renters, you will become frustrated and lose sleep, but greedy Fulton Grace doesn't care, they just want their commission.

They post properties that are already rented so they can get your info to drive their data up, then tell you the property is unavailable and ask you more personal questions while saying they have more units to show,

For property owners thinking that you will be able to negotiate with prospective tenants, you will not be, because the agent jumps in and interrupts the conversation because their commission is on the line.

This site is FULL of fake listings! Both by unscrupulous "listing managers" with their, "Sorry, that apartment is rented, but what are you looking for, I have others available,"and random scammers who will HAPPILY accept your full name, email address, AND phone number!

Forget about Apartments.com paying ANY attention to your reports of fraudulent listings, they are the PlentyOfFish of apartment searches!

Zillow is slowly headed toward the same cliff. Be careful!
