Stayed at The Surfland Hotel in Lincoln City, Oregon. Rented a room with a balcony and ocean view. Hotel is on a bluff overlooking the beach with access stairs down to the beach. Slept with the door open listening to ocean sounds. Hotel is an older property, but very clean. Offers hot and cold breakfast every morning with waffles, sausage, eggs, toast and cereal. Close access to restaurants. Only small negative, hit and miss internet connection.

Indian Creek Golf Course in Hood River, Oregon is a very well maintained course. The fairways and rough are mowed to the correct heights. The greens are well manicured. The fairways wind through pine trees, with several changes in elevation. Almost every par 3 features a elevated tee box. Many of the holes offer views of snow covered Mt. Hood.

Vacasa is worst rental company ever. Rented unit thru VRBO in 3/22 or occupancy 1/23. They turned over to Vacasa. All fine for 10 months. Day of check in they called and advised unit not available due to water damage from unit above. (There was no unit above the rental). Offered refund or another unit. We had driven 17 hours so accepted other unit. Not in gated community, not on golf course, $72 a day to use pool, no coffee pot, only plastic bowls and dishes not microwave or dishwasher safe, dog outside next door barked 24/7. After 5 days of barking dog, asked neighbor at 10:30 to take dog inside. She called me every filthy name and said I was a %$&*( renter and had no business asking them to take dog in. Next morning Vacasa called and said I should not harass neighbors - should call Vacasa. I apologized, told him story of dog and told him I would call him. He suddenly reversed position and said Vacasa had no control over neighbors. If i had issues, call authorities. A few days later, we put out garbage. 8:30 at night hear noise outside and see same neighbor overfilling our garbage cans with their garbage. Left voice mail and emailed Vacasa. No response. Vacasa called day before our checkout date, said unit was rented for that day and we needed vacate immediately. Told him check out date was next day. He said look in system and will see date is today. Sure enough, Vacasa had changed date in system by 1 day. Told him I would send him 3 different emails from Vacasa, including the one I received the day we checked into this unit with tomorrow as a check out date. He told me didn't believe me - but send immediately because he needs us out as place is rented. Sent emails to him and asked him to call me back when resolved. Never heard from again. Watch out - numerous issues with rental not available upon arrival.
