Great appliances but charged to repair hob that was smashed on arrival.

We bought £******* worth of items from Miele. We put them in storage for a while after they arrived (3-4 months) as our builders weren't ready for them.

When we opened the hob, there was a huge crack in the glass. The box and the polystyrene encasing the hob were intact so it wasn't possible for the damage to have occurred after delivery.

Admittedly we should have checked the hob when it first arrived but still the manufacturer clearly packaged and shipped an item with a huge crack in it.

We called Miele who are discounting the repair a little bit (depending on how long it takes might be as much as 35% off), but this falls well short of what we would expect from Miele.

Miele made an appointment to send someone to repair the device (2 weeks on from when I called). I took a day off work, during the one hour window where the technician was due to arrive he called me to cancel the appointment saying it will be rescheduled.

I placed an order with this website for an item which was displayed as £19.99 with free delivery. I received an invoice for GBP 19.99 with free delivery.

My credit card was actually charged USD 27.80 which even at interbank rates is about £23.

The website didn't given any indication that this would happen, or allow me to select the currency I would be charged in.

I contacted the company, they say:
"The charge is the bank handling fee, but we only received 19.99" and refuse to do anything to rectify the situation or allow my to cancel the order.

I ordered a cyclestand and accessories from acycles.

A part was missing (manufacturers fault), however acycles claimed they were "asking for updates
