Please avoid this company. Sadly we were charged for a full removal service for our move on 27th of March and received a substandard man and van service at best by a man and his friend who do not work for Carlin Brown and are not professional movers, they told us they do not work for the company and were working cash in hand. The movers were one hour late, and the main mover was alone for the majority of the time when packing up. Due to this loading took 3.5 hours after being told it wouldn't take more than two. We have no white goods and we're moving from a small flat. On arrival to our new place we were asked to assist moving furniture which was a far cry from the stress-free experience promised. I am concerned for anyone moving with this company that they might have the same experience and leave their belongings with untrained, unprofessional people.
No masks were worn or hand sanitiser used, and as we were asked to assist with the move, social distancing was impossible.
I had been convinced by great reviews and friendly consultation and reassurance from Mike but this was the furthest experience from what we were promised. We attempted to work with Andy and Mike to receive a partial refund due to the lateness and fact that the service was not what we had paid for and due to their refusal we have escalated to trading standards.
