I put an ad on backstage and 240 actors requested auditions. As I went through the list I sent three actors my info my name email and phone number. And then I was blocked. I contacted backstage and they told me I wasn't allowed to give the actors my contact info. The actors were only allowed contact through there site. That the actors had to pay each month and that my use of direct contact took money from backstage's pockets. I told them I had 30 parts to assign for a pg13 radio play. They said they didn't want my kind on their website.
SCAM - Anytime a company refuses to let you speak to management should bring up a red flag. They owe me money.
Pay Backstage a monthly fee and keep paying them a monthly fee. If by chance a job opens in your area then don't waste your time applying for the job, because when they try to contact you. Backstage will block them and tell them that they are not allowed to know your email. Then Backstage will delete your application.
