I normally bring my clothes to a local upscale consignment store and I never expect much because they are in the business of making money. Of course they are not going to pay much for even brand new designer clothing, because they in turn are using the items to make a profit, so not much is to be expected. I often purchase items thinking I found a great deal, yet, often times don't end up wearing what I purchased. The local consignment store, I normally walk out with between $80.00-145.00. I think that is pretty good and I certainly did not expect anywhere's near that amount from thredUP. I was curious and wanted to try it, so I did... I was not expecting them to show me what they purchased and then right after to send a follow up email showing items that already sold. The items they supposedly purchased were brand new condition, the majority purchased were jeans, a couple blazers and a couple tops from Victorias Secret. I ended up with 9.45. Less than. 75 for each item they purchased. I will never do that again!
