Update: I sent my own photos to Very and they came back a week later and said it was obviously a delivery problem. Within a few days they had collected the old sofa and brought a new one the next day and then got my delivery charge back on the original broken sofa and wasn't charged for that. I did mention I had spoken to the Furniture Ombudsman and if this wasn't dealt with within 7 days it would be contacting their investigation team.
When I discovered damage to my sofa I contacted Very who sent out an engineer who totally lied about me. You can see the damage in the photos below & the mark it left on the floor when I moved the sofa on the floor.
