I use these for sub-q fluids for tiny foster kittens. These were exactly what I needed, best price, and no paperwork required for purchase.

Reason I chose this business:

No prescription/license required and cheapest $.

Reason I chose this product:

It's the one I need/always use.

The pictures look great. What you get, however, will bear little resemblance to the images on the site.

Example: a sweater pictured online is clearly a knitted fair isle woolen, yet what I received is a woven patterned poly. However, for $11 with free shipping I'll happily wear this sweater running errands or picking apples without worrying about damaging an expensive handmade garment.

I am glad I didn't buy any outerwear or shoes, since others have complained that what you get is NOT EVEN CLOSE to what is pictured. I almost ordered a pair of "birkenstocks" for $12, and now I'm glad I didn't.

I am very glad that I only bought casual tops/tunics, gloves, and leggings. The leggings were serviceable, though not at all as pictured, while the knitted gloves were great so I have no complaints about those, especially for the dirt cheap prices.

The tops/tunics, on the other hand, are extremely cheesy for the most part. They seem to be acceptably sewn (for incredibly cheap knockoffs) but the quality control is spotty. One is particularly egregious with the design down the front being off center and bizarrely placed. The sizing is all over the map with the sleeves generally being too long. I actually don't mind that, since most sleeves are too short for me because I have very broad shoulders. The fabric on all items is very thin and cheap, so I expect a lot of shrinkage once washed, which is good since all items (same size for all) run large to extremely huge.

I make bespoke clothing for a living and I make all of my own "nice" clothes because I hate altering things. I can easily alter any garment if necessary, but most people can't. Every single one of these items is too wide or too long in the neckline, the body, the sleeves, and/or the hem/length. I think most people would find these items unwearable.

I bought the Nora Cora items to wear around the house. I work at home so I'm home all day and I do a lot of messy stuff from gardening, woodworking, and sewing, to cooking, housework, and bottle-feeding orphaned foster kittens. My clothing takes a beating and I often go through several sets of clothes a day depending on which sloppy or downright filthy task has to be tackled. I went through my closet at the end of the year and tossed out the most disreputable, stained, ripped, frayed, and faded stuff I would be embarrassed to wear crossing the road to get the mail. I found myself in dire need of washable, comfy shirts and leggings I didn't care about ruining and these fit the bill. Nothing is scratchy and some of the fabric actually feels fairly soft and nice.

I understand that you get what you pay for, but I can't justify spending a lot for clothes I will likely render unwearable in public the first time I put them on. I only buy ready made clothing if it's cheaper than what the materials would cost me to make it myself. What I refuse to accept, however, is being shipped something which looks NOTHING like the picture, even if it is really inexpensive. I don't bait and switch on my business website because it is fraudulent and I'm proud of the fact that when someone orders from me what they receive is EXACTLY what they saw pictured online.

I got 14 tops, 11 pairs of leggings, and 3 pairs of gloves for $284, or about $10 each. I was shopping for messy-work-a-day stuff and that's what I got. Not a single thing could be worn to an office, even on casual Friday, even if altered. There are two light-weight tops I would be comfortable wearing to the grocery store over a pair of jeans, but that's it, aside from my new apple-picking fall sweater.

Noracora can't seem to ship all the items at once. Three items were missing from the order and when I inquired about when/if they might ship, I was offered the option to either cancel or receive a 15% discount on those items if I waited for "future shipping". From reading online reviews I realized that if I agreed to take the discount I would wait forever for the items to be shipped, since they apparently never make a subsequent shipment. Instead I chose to cancel the missing items and request a refund. There were some additional back and forth emails with them increasing the amount of discount, but each time I simply demanded a refund. It took about 10 business days, but I eventually got the full amount credited back to my card.

Bottom line, I won't have to buy clothes for the next 5 years at least, but I will never buy from Noracora again.

Are you kidding me? We ordered two burrito bowls (standard beans/rice/toppings) for delivery, because hubby had a "craving" for Mexican and snubbed my offer of freshly-roasted chicken thighs. The price was $30 (!) so we were expecting it to at least look like it did on the menu. Um, no. There were two "bowls" in the bag and 2 plastic forks. No napkins, no nothing. Okay, fine, we're home, so we have napkins and real silverware.

Then... wait for it... we open each bowl and there is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING in either bowl except for a few ounces of mystery meat smeared in the bottom of each bowl. It smelled sort of okay, but it looked like dog food. In fact, the cat hopped up on the counter, probably lured by the smell, took one look, then jumped back down. I have added a photo so you can see what we got.

Hubby filed for a refund and will try to convert this atrocity into nachos so at least we have some food, but I am skeptical. He's a master at all things ethnic and we have the requisite sauces, etc, but I'm betting those roasted chicken thighs don't sound so bad now, right honey?

We are attempting to build an enormous addition to our home. We need to hire a LOT of trades to do the work. We decided to start with hiring an electrician to replace ALL the wiring in the second story because the architect discovered some truly ancient stuff (200 year old house) when drawing up the plans. Last year we had a brand new box installed and the downstairs wiring replaced when we redid the kitchen, so we called our long-time electrical guy only to discover that he'd retired and moved away.

So, we gave Angi a try. We have had no fewer than FIVE "electricians" come out to look, yet NOT ONE of them has gotten back to us with a quote. This project should be EASY because I have already REMOVED all of the drywall/plaster in the ceilings and exterior walls. I will be replacing all the insulation with rockwool once the wiring is in. I just don't understand why no one wants this job. It's even easier than new construction because the wiring is already in so it should be a total "duh" to pull replacement wiring.

We are fully funded and ready to pay cash, yet no one wants to work, apparently. If I don't find someone soon I'll have to do the work myself, and I'm seriously too old for this. To me electrical is like plumbing. Sure, I "can" do it, but I DON'T WANT TO.

I'd love to post proof of purchase, but since NO ONE will agree to do any work, we haven't been able to purchase anything. Sigh.

Bottom line, Angi.com clearly doesn't vet their contractors before putting them forward as "professionals". This is ridiculous.

Tip for consumers:
Don't expect anyone to get back to you.

Many moons ago, when the hubster and I first gave up grains and went extremely low-carb, my wonderful Bro and SIL started gifting us an Omaha prime rib roast every year for Xmas. It was a thing of beauty. Granted, the hubby would dry-age it for a few days in fridge with his special dry rub, but it always tasted great! We would have it as our Xmas dinner with my mother (only local family member) and then have one full-on dinner redux for just the two of us with enough left to make several blue cheese steak salads.

In recent years the roast seemed to get smaller and smaller. We'd get barely 5 adult servings out of the roast which used to feed 7-9. Also, it just didn't taste as good, no matter what hubby did to it. Last Xmas Bro and SIL sent us a variety pack containing steaks, chicken, pork, some carb stuff we re-gifted, and the tiniest burgers we ever saw. All the meat was awful. I was told the potatoes and the apple desserts were good, but meat is all that matters if you're ordering from Omaha.

I was concerned about telling Bro and SIL how bad Omaha had gotten, but hubby had a better idea. He sent a box of steaks to Bro for his birthday. We got a thank you note indicating that we should have told them sooner how bad Omaha had gotten. With a smiley face, so it was cool. Bottom line, just avoid Omaha Steaks.

Tip for consumers:
Omaha used to be great and now it's really, really not.

  • Wells Fargo

6/28/22

In the 1990s my father died and we had to liquidate all his investment positions to put the entire $ amount into a WF fbo trust for my mother. No worries, right? WRONG! Suffice to say it's been close to 25 years now, and the trust is worth LESS THAN HALF of the original principal! By contrast, my mother sold her house a few years later and put the money into a Morgan Stanley investment account. That account is now worth more than DOUBLE the original principal, PLUS they give her $ every month.

So... We already knew that WF was at best incompetent, and at worst fraudulently mis-managing the account. The truly GALLING part is that when my mother went into a memory care facility and we attempted to access funds in her FBO (for benefit of) Wells Fargo Trust account, we were told NO! They said, "She has this big brokerage account, she should use that. We need to keep the wealth of her trust intact." "Wealth"? Are you kidding me? She'd have TWICE as much money right now if she'd stuffed it under her mattress!

So, we were told to take the money from an account with a 20% annual return instead of the FBO trust which was not only losing money hand over fist, but was created for JUST THIS PURPOSE! Even our lawyers have not been able to get these dirtbags to pay, and breaking the trust will cause us to lose most of what remains in taxes, so it's of no benefit to my mother to do it.

Watching my mom's account balance dwindle every month when they have NEVER given her a thin dime is beyond infuriating. Perhaps I should contact Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT use Wells Fargo for anything. DO NOT give them your money.

  • Stanley Steemer

6/4/22

I used Stanley Steemer to clean my wall to wall carpets back in the late 80s a year after we bought the house. Yes, the 1980s. They did a lousy job but the whole thing only cost $99 so I chalked it up to a "learning experience". The carpets looked (and smelled!) worse after cleaning than before, so we just ripped them up and refinished the original 1820s wide plank wood floors. We were planning on doing that eventually anyway, so no harm, no foul, and the previous owners' "dog stink" was finally gone.

About 6 months after the carpet cleaning I got a call from SS trying to schedule another cleaning appt. I explained that we no longer had carpet so I didn't need their "service". The female caller was like a pit-bull. She countered with, "But what about your upholstery, your drapes, your tile floors?" I replied, "Our few upholstered pieces are leather, we do not have ANY draperies of any kind, and my tiny tile floor bathrooms are just fine, thanks." This badgering kept on and on. No matter WHAT I said the pit-bull had a counter to it. I finally said, "Look, you did a lousy job cleaning my carpet which is why we no longer HAVE carpet. I would NEVER use your "service" ever again. Stop calling me!" She immediately started barking some counter comments so I just hung up on her. Back then I didn't have a phone with the ability to block numbers, so lather/rinse/repeat every 6 months for YEARS.

Fast forward to 2022 (30+ years later!) and I STILL get a solicitation call from these creeps every 6 months. Apparently because I am a "former customer" the "do not call list" doesn't apply to SS. I screen all my calls so it's not hard to block/report/delete these spam calls, but it's a different number every. Single. Time.

The only reason I wrote this review is that ANOTHER new number showed up in my voicemail today. Really? Can't take the hint? They must be desperate to be calling people who haven't used their "service" in OVER 30 years AND have told them to STOP calling!

Tip for consumers:
Don't use Stanley Steemer. They will do a lousy job and then call you every 6 months for the rest of your life. I actually considered changing my phone number to avoid these people, but it's the number I have used for my BUSINESS since 1984. Sigh.

I ordered boots from swap.com on 2/9/22. They arrived today, 2/12/22 and they are not the size described. Even with super heavy wool socks they are too big for me to wear. I went out to their return page and entered every single number from both my confirmation email and the insert from the package. Not a single number is accepted as a valid order number. I contacted "customer assistance" both on their site and via email and received a vague "we are very understaffed and will get back to you as soon as possible". I am concerned that they will not get back to me within the 14 day return window. At least I'm only out $25. If I never hear anything I'll just donate these sasquatch boots to good will.
Update: Today, 2/13, after multiple email exchanges (including threats of bad reviews and complaints to the BBB) with swap.com, I FINALLY received a printable return label which will hopefully rid me of these giant boots and put $25 back in my pocket. I will update you anon...
Update: As of today, 2/25, the boots I shipped back on 2/16 are still not showing up as delivered on the USPS website. Swap.com sent me a "how would you rate your recent experience with Swap.com" email, so I unloaded on them. I also initiated a chargeback with my credit card issuer. Again, I shall update you anon...
Update: The boots were posted as "received" on 2/28, but still no credit was issued. As of today, 3/20, the chargeback I initiated nearly a MONTH ago went through and I finally received a credit. Just don't do business with these scammers.

  • Carvana

1/2/21

My husband found a car he liked on Carvana and paid a $100 deposit to "reserve" it. He was told they would bring the car to him for a test drive within 3 days. After 5 days he called and was told the car "has already been sold". Also, Carvana had been unable to supply pictures of the actual car supposedly for sale, which seemed very fishy. And the icing on the cake? Turns out the $100 was NON-REFUNDABLE, although it does NOT say that anywhere we could find. Run, do not walk away from Carvana.

Tip for consumers:
Do not trust a word the carvana people say.

My order confirmation on 10/21/19 stated that the order would ship in 2-3 days. It's been 15 days and no response to my emails, no tracking number, no product. I just filed a dispute with my cc issuer. So... they will have to refund my money AND pay a chargeback fee.
