I spoke to Adam Campbell today who is the worst customer service representative I've spoken to in a long time. He started by asking basic questions (where do I work, income, savings) and his answer to my responses each time was 'interesting' - he sounded like he was on autopilot.
After reading a pre-prepared script he informed me I qualified for a visa according to my answers and then swiftly informed me the cost of an application would be £275 ($380) and read me my case number. I asked politely when they would expect to start this case / process and take payment to which he said 'right now'...I informed him I had to leave the house and he said this would only take a few minutes; no customer service rep in their right mind would try to jam you on the spot if you need to go, so this is when I got suspicious.
I told him to call tomorrow and that I wanted to speak to other agencies to get a comparison; he said 'that isn't going to work, and also if you speak to another agency the outcome may be different'. I'm sorry, but 24 hrs of consideration and speaking to other agents is absolutely NOT going to result in the aussie government changing their policies. I flagged this to him, and he started again repeating himself, talking over me, and trying to scare me into signing up by implying only through UIS would I receive a favourable outcome.
He deployed laughable logic, embarrassingly low customer service skills, but most of all completely undermined the legitimacy of this agency.
Horrendous.
