I too was told by the Hotel I can get a refund due to Covid. However Hotels.com refused. And to add insult to injury You cannot speak to anyone and they do not have an email. They just block you. However if you want to make a booking they answer immediately and if you ask to be transferred to customer service they disconnect the phone call. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY THE ARE FRAUDS. Their reviews constantly are in the 1's and 2's. Someone has to police this company they are unscrupulous! BEWARE BOOK WITH SOMEONE ELSE!
Yes, it will be charged directly and refunded later unless you book via "pay at destination" which risks in a foreign country that you end up paying more.

Usually won't take that long. Better email them without making another reservation. Sometimes their email went to SPAM. Good luck n enjoy your holiday :)
While every big n small bussiness are offering REFUNDS OR CREDITS including all airlines, all hotels, all bussiness, HOTELS.COM IS NOT GIVING EITHER! DO NOT BOOK FROM THIS WEB SITE. Their bookings n staff are all completely rude n un knowledgeable. Customer service is hopeless. UNDER COVID EVEN THIS HOTELS.COM is not refunding or giving any credits. I losts hundereds of dollars even when I lost my job. It is sad that while all business are taking hits n refunding or issuing credits this HOTELS.COM IS SQUEZING MONEY OUT OF ITS CUSTOMERS. SHAME SHAME HOTELS.COM FOR NO CONCERN ABOUT COVID 19 REFUNDS
